Fantastic House with a Wonderful Host
Our US, Canadian and French family joined forces this summer for travel and booked Lee's home in Bigfork. Firstly, the pictures don't do the house justice in terms of esthetics or space. There was ample room for everyone plus a huge kitchen and living area. The house is located just outside of the town of Bigfork - so whether dining, adventure, a day on the river or hiking is in the agenda, it's all within a short drive. Lee was a helpful and laid back host. Most definitely recommend. This area of the country is just absolutely beautiful.

Wonderful experience!
Lee was a pleasure to work and chat with. The property was perfect for a family of 9 ranging from 84 years old to 3 months old. The home was large enough for all of us to spend time together as a group as well as accommodating those times where we needed down time away from each other. It is far enough off the beaten path that it was quiet and relaxing but close enough to town that we could grab what we needed without spending valued time getting to and from. This area has so much to explore and returning to some place that was like home after a long day out and about was a wonderful experience!

About the host

I found this property in the year 2000, as I was looking for a place to build a new studio.
It was an effortless deal, no banks involved just a realtor I Knew. I considered it a temporary situation and named it Stepping Stone, as I was on my way to live and work in the San Juan Islands in Washington.
But as fate would have I met Sally and we fell quite in love and ended up building this home together. It was a lot of fun, challenging, and some what stressful. I designed the house, acted as contractor and research & development! Sally did the floor plan and was the interior designer. It is a tilt up concrete building with virtually no outside maintenance. We chose concrete for something unique as most homes in Montana are
made of wood. I have installed many projects in large wooden summer homes and often the owners complain about all the maintenance required to keep them up every year!
Although Sally and I ended up going separate ways, we are still very close. So I have decided to share this wonderful place and look forward to welcoming the guest that have chosen The "Main House" at Stepping Stone this coming summer!

What makes this property unique

Unique Architecture, spacious and well lit, with passive solar windows. warm in winter and cool in summer. The bedrooms are 100' apart for nice privacy, a great room with kitchen and island that brings folks together. the place is very suitable for large parties, events etc. It truly is an easy flowing design and I often hear from visitors that the space has wonderful energy and a relaxed "feel" about it, not to mention the beautiful natural views of the forrest and fields out every window. A place that is definitely meant to be shared!
