About this property

Best Vacation Rental in the Heart of Juneau

This wonderful vacation home is perfectly situated to provide a glorious, 180 degree view of Gastineau Channel, easy walking distance to downtown, and ‘backyard’ access to a trail system that can take you to the Perseverance Trail and beyond. Solid hickory floors provide a welcome warmth and cozy feel as you watch the sunrise over the channel. Once you settle in for your stay, you might not want to go anywhere!

Fantastic spot for a family getaway!
Greta's place was perfect for our multigenerational family getaway. Tons of room to hangout, everything was in great condition, and super easy to get around. Greta offered terrific recommendations and made sure we had everything we need. The luck of having amazing weather for our stay was an extra bonus! Highly recommend to others.

Beautiful
Great house. Temperature always perfect. Everything we needed in the kitchen (did not use outdoor grill due to weather). Views perfect. Location was easy access to downtown and walking to trails and hikes from the front door

Fabulous Property!
Fabulous property! Spectacular water and mountain views. Loved watching the cruise ships as well as Wings Airways float planes arrive/depart the downtown waterfront. Just a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and shopping. Comfortable beds, quiet neighborhood, well stocked refrigerator…I can’t say enough good things. This property doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend!!!

A beautiful home overlooking the Gastenau Channel
A perfect vacation home for a Juneau getaway. Each morning we appreciated the changing views from the top floor. The kitchen and living spaces were perfect for our week-long stay. However the best part was walking access to Cope park, downtown Juneau, and the ocean walk. It was the perfect place for us to unwind after busy days.

Why they chose this property

OVERVIEW: Completely furnished, centrally located home with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen, dining room and living room embody the definition of an open floor plan. Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the living room features a comfortable, pull-out sofa that sleeps two. The kitchen bar seats 2 and the table expands to seat 8 comfortably

FIRST FLOOR: The first floor is accessed by one step from the outside and has one private and quiet bedroom, one full-bathroom, a fully-furnished dining/living room and well-stocked kitchen with jaw-dropping views from every location.

SECOND FLOOR: The second floor is reached by 18 stairs. The two private and quiet bedrooms share a full bathroom with “Jack and Jill” access.

TOP OF THE WORLD: Three more stairs bring you up to an open family room with high ceilings and unobstructed, 180 degree views of mountains, ocean, and the underlying neighborhood. Great place for a cup of coffee in the morning to watch the sunrise or to sit in the evening with the lights off and watch the city lights.

What makes this property unique

This was a historic miner’s home that was recently renovated by the Alaskan and Swiss owners over the course of two years. The exposed steel beam that supports the addition of the living and dining room is the beam from the original Juneau-Douglas bridge.

Solid hickory floors on the first level provide a very cozy feel to a house that is surrounded on two sides by windows. You won’t find a better view in all of Juneau!
