Look no further for your upstate get-away! Located on Big Rock Lake, this cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house is complete with all of the comforts of home. Enjoy swimming, boating and fishing on the lake (2 kayaks /1 paddle board available), and a plethora of nearby outdoor adventures including hiking/backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, waterfalls, wildlife and wildflower viewing, road biking, fishing, and pontoon day-boating rentals on nearby Lakes Jocassee or Keowee. Whether you are coming for an adventure or to simply relax on the huge back porch, in the hot tub, or on the lake - Big Rock Bungalow is just the place you've been looking for.
Note: For security purposes, we have 2 video cameras outside on the front of the house. One camera faces the front door other faces road/driveways.

Please supervise children while near/in water! Life jackets provided on porch. Tether boats to the dock after use so they do not float away.

House was perfect for our needs, especially with the master bedroom a little separated downstairs. Put the kid to back and we’re able to hang out with the company upstairs. A shallow area leading into the lake would have been perfect, but we made friends with the neighbor so not a problem after all.

WONDERFUL
The lake was very clean-you could see your feet treading water in the middle. Fed by 6 springs, so refreshing. The house was cozy, plenty of room and wonderfully quiet. Very nice neighbors. My family and I loved it!!! So much nature to enjoy within short walking and driving distance! Hope to return.

Beautiful view
Beautiful view, very clean and relaxing. Loved that we had the use the kayaks and paddle boards, teenagers loved it (although water was a bit to cold for me in April!) Owners gave lots of hiking tips and spots to check out, breath taking views and hiking for all activity levels. The also reached out before/ after a thunderstorm. We will definitely be back!

Quick weekend away
We had a great time. The house was perfect and has the best views on the lake. We hiked, kayaked, went in the hot tub, and spent a ton of time on the porch. Great stay and certainly would recommend. I would also suggest trying Pizza Inn while in town.

We live in Asheville, NC but love to explore the upstate of South Carolina as well! We love Big Rock Mountain, Table Rock and Pumpkintown for climbing, and bonus - we love Big Rock Lake!

Why they chose this property

Our property is centrally located within 10-20 minutes car ride to over half a dozen or so state parks. So, if you're into the outdoors Big Rock Bunglow makes a great home base! You don't even have to get in the car either - Big Rock Mountain is right across the lake and features countless miles of hiking trails and, of course, over 100 excellent rock climbing routes (sport and trad). You can park or walk to Big Rock Trailhead at 255 Big Rock Lake Rd and be amidst large rocks in less than a 10 minute walk.

What makes this property unique

Big Rock Bungalow is located on Big Rock Lake, where you can access the lake to swim, fish, or jump in kayak right from our private dock. Big Rock Lake is a small, quiet lake about 7 acres. Small boats that you move by hand like canoes, kayaks, SUPs, river tubes, etc. can be tied to dock. We have 2 kayaks and a paddle board at the dock for your use. However, no motorized boats. Often you will be the only one on the lake! There is a stunning view of the mountain from the back porch - it's particularly pretty in the fall. We also have a hot tub that is available year round for ultimate relaxation!
