About this property

Wine Moose Hot tub Fireplace Sauna 9min to Mt Snow

My super cozy mountain chalet 10 mins from Mount Snow is the perfect spot to host your Vermont vacation! Let the grownups cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace in the living room, while the kids hang out in the second living room and game room downstairs. With air hockey, shuffleboard, and poker table, they’ll be busy for hours. Hmmm….maybe the grownups will claim that space for themselves! After a long day on the slopes or trails, the sauna, hot tub, or jacuzzi tub will feel great on tired musc

Perfect for multiple or extended families traveling to Vermont to take advantage of our skiing or summer hiking, my 3-story home has plenty of space for everyone, with bedrooms on each floor, two separate living rooms, and a game room.

For guests that have to check in with the office, it's super easy here! There are four desks throughout the house, three in bedrooms and one in the living room. Each has the option to sit or stand and come equipped with external monitors.

Find yourself just 10 minutes from Mt Snow, 1.5 miles from Cooper Hill for the most incredible views, and 300ft from a VAST trail access if you bring snowmobiles (VAST: Vermont Association of Snowmobile Travelers).

LIVING SPACES

You’ll enter through one of two the mudrooms, outfitted with a convenient bench and even more convenient boot dryer. Perfect for wet, wintry days! Then walk into the living room, with its soaring ceiling, cozy woodwork, and comfortable furnishings that just scream “HOME”.

At the end of a busy day, you’ll definitely want to plop down on the plush wrap-around sofa with a blazing fire in the wood-burning fireplace (firewood is supplied), with a yummy snack or cup of hot cocoa resting on the coffee table.

Choose a book from the lending library and enjoy some “quiet time”. Later in the evening, pop in a DVD from the extensive collection and zone out to one of your favorite movies, or get your group together to play one of the many board games! All the TVs in the house have WiFi with Apple TV.

When night falls, you'll be able to see the stars through the skylight above the master bed if there aren't any clouds. The stars here are the most amazing I've seen, anywhere. It feels like you're in a dome. They feel fake!

If you’d like to kick up the action a notch, head downstairs to the second living room and game room. Here, you can choose to either chill out on the massive sofa (which turns into two queen beds) and watch some TV, or play the card shark at the poker table. For something a little more active, try your hand at air hockey, or the shuffleboard game that sits in a separate room with a futon.

KITCHEN AND DINING

Like to cook? You’ll love it here! The kitchen is a delightful combination of the familiar and the new. Colorful wallpaper will transport you back in time, while the upgraded stainless steel appliances keep you firmly planted in the here and now.

With plenty of cabinets for all your goodies and groceries and oodles of counter space for food prep, the delicious aromas of the group’s favorite dishes will be wafting through the house in no time! I provide organic spices, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar - a few less things to pack.

The dining table for 8 sits in front of both a big picture window and sliding glass doors to the patio. The group will dine in style, with a backdrop of the gorgeous scenery.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS

The kids are going to be clamoring for the downstairs bedroom just to be close to the game room. This cozy space features a twin bunk set and a twin, so 3 twins in all. But, wait, there’s more! Other sleeping spaces here include the futon in the shuffleboard room, and two side-by-side queen beds that pull out from the sectional sofa.

The bathroom has a special surprise that everyone will love - a sauna! It’s perfect for soothing muscles tired from skiing or hiking.

The middle level offers two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and a bathroom with a tub/shower.

The upper level has two more bedrooms. The king bedroom has a nifty skylight, with nightstands and lamps for the late-night readers. The second bedroom has four twins, two of which are tucked into a cozy dormer, with a triple dresser and TV.

The bathroom has a great jetted tub and separate shower. Soon after you arrive, you’ll start hearing shouts of “Dibs on the Jacuzzi!” echoing through the house.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES

The deck with a grill and dining table is a great spot to enjoy morning coffee or an alfresco meal during the warmer months. The fire pit is a great way to enjoy a cool evening, maybe with some marshmallows or s’mores, and even a ghost story or two. And the crown jewel is the hot tub, perfect in the winter, and just as nice under the stars in the chilly mountain nights of summer.

PETS

Pets are welcome (there is a $50 fee), but please keep them off the furniture and beds.

There's a keypad on the door. I will supply a unique keycode on the day of arrival. The keycode only works during the reservation.

People come to this area to enjoy the tranquility and serenity of Vermont. In the winter, it’s a skier’s mecca, at just 10 minutes to Mt. Snow, and with a VAST trail two doors down. In the summer, visitors love to hike and enjoy the nearby lakes and ponds. I’m just 20 minutes from Harriman Reservoir and 16 minutes from Lake Raponda.

Visitors drive to this area. You'll need a car to get around.

✹ The hot tub may not be up to temperature when you first arrive. I empty, sanitize, and refill it regularly so that you have super fresh water. It takes almost 10 hours to heat up after I fill it up, so if I do that on the day of your check-in, it may not be up to temperature that first night. I coordinate it for the day before if possible so that it is ready by when you check in, but it's not always possible.

An enjoyable trip amongst college friends
Everything from the top floor to the game room in the basement was perfect! The house comes with a sauna and hot tub that we advidely enjoyed. There was enough space for 10 of us to enjoy drinks by the fireplace.

Awesome place to base a ski trip out of
We had a great time at the Wine Moose! The sauna kept us super warm in the super cold temps. Very very close to Mt. Snow and we also hit up Berkshire East and Magic an hour south and north respectively, easily. I'd recommend staying here!

Magical
We wanted our NC family to see & feel Mt. snow. Being in the Wine Moose lodge was a perfect setting for our family. They all love to cook & laughter a lot and this was a great lodge. There were private areas and large gathering areas….all magical

Great property!
The house is really nice. It's extremely clean, and many things are brand new. There's lots to keep people of all ages entertained. The host is amazing. He's one of the most responsive people I've ever dealt with. Whenever I had a question, I'd send it along, and get an answer very quickly. If you're planning to stay in the area, this is a great house to choose.

Hi there! My name is Tommy. I fell in love with Vermont about 10 years ago. I was living in NYC and was craving to balance out the hectic bustle of the city with more nature. The first time I came to Vermont was when I was invited to stay at a friend of a friend's place for the weekend and go skiing. I FELL IN LOVE and bought a year later. For the next 6 years, I was coming up to Vermont every weekend, wishing I could stay longer. Eventually I moved back home to Miami to be closer to family. By then, I had fallen so deeply in love with Vermont and the house that I didn't want to sell it, even though I wouldn't be using it much at all. So, I decided to rent it out so that I can keep it. I hope you enjoy my pride and joy :)

Why they chose this property

I looked at quite a few properties before buying this one. I love how cozy it feels even though it's huge. The carpet, the wooden walls... then I met the previous owner that was selling it and I loved how much they enjoyed the house. They were super fun people. He's a wine distributor. The moose head above the fireplace is made of grapevines. He got it at his first wine conference.
