Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Nature! Nature! Only an hour from Austin! Start your day with a cup of coffee or tea on the deck enjoying the lake view with just the birds and trees for company. Spend your day playing in the water with a short hike down through the woods right to the shore, sturdy shoes recommended. Or, take a five minute stroll down to Owl Creek Park to enjoy the swimming beach, picnic areas, and boat launch. Wind down with beautiful sunsets!

Peaceful and cozy
We stayed here while in the process of buying a house in Gatesville. It was home away from home and was a lovely place to relax from the stresses of life. It was clean and had everything we could have needed and more during our stay. The lake is low but we were able to hike down and explore. The house was kid friendly and had lots of books, some board games and other things to keep the kids(and adults) entertained. The owner was so very kind and responded in a timely manner. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

Labor Day weekend getaway
Beautiful home with a scenic view. The lake is dried up but you can still hike down to the bank. Would recommend updating the description because the boat ramp is overgrown & unusable for a boat. There are boat ramps nearby so you can still access the lake from those. Overall great stay.

Awesome retreat!
This home is awesome, great location for a quiet get away. Though the lake is currently low, there are still ramps and alternative lakes to fish close. Temple and the surrounding areas are full of family activities too. Property owners are very quick to respond to any questions and help in anyway, and remind us of all the amenities available. I would definitely recommend this place for any family!

Great house!
The house was great and as described in the listing. The view was beautiful. Quiet neighborhood. The hosts communicated well and had tons of extra amenities at the property.

Lovely Place, Wheelchair Accessible
We wanted to find a quiet place to unplug from our devices for a few days. We took our teens here and had a lovely stay. Our son is a wheelchair user and it was challenging to find a lake house rental that would accommodate him -- this home was perfect and had a ramp up to the door. The view of the lake is beautiful and there are many amenities. Of course, our kids didn't end up "unplugged" the entire time. We enjoyed the TVs in the evening and watched some fun movies. I highly recommend this place! Very nice owners and good communication, too.
