☀ What does the drive there look like?
➜ Transparently,, the drive up to the property can be steep and winding. We do recommend arriving before sundown, as it can be uncomfortable/ scary to navigate in the dark. If you are terribly uncomfortable with driving on mountains, we will miss getting to host you and recommend another property. BUT, if you can try it out, the Wears Valley views and natural coziness are what make Gatlinburg the tried and true mountain destination.

☀ Do you need to bring your own linens?
➜ No, no and absolutely not! Our promise to our guests is to provide consistency and to us, consistency means ensuring essentials. We will provide sheets, towels, washcloths, etc so that you can fill your bags with more exciting things!

Great view BUT
This cabin had a great view of Wears Valley. It’s was perfect for 2 couples with the upstairs and downstairs bedroom ( stairs are a little steep) it would be good for families also. The beds were very comfortable plenty of cooking stuff although we didn’t use them. Table was set when we got there with dusty dishes. There were spiderwebs everywhere. We had trouble with lock on door and had a hard time getting a response from management and when we did they still didn’t fix it. If it had been cleaner I would’ve given this cabin a 4:5 star.

Would Stay Again & Again
The property manager I spoke to prior to our stay was very nice but I had a lot of trouble connecting with him via either phone or email - that's the only reason for 4 stars there. We had a couple of odd issues & a couple of maintenance things during our stay, but it wouldn't keep us from staying again. Property & view are as pictured, comfortable & nicely appointed. Could use a cookie or baking sheet added to the kitchen supplies. There wasn't a starter coffee filter so be sure to pick those up before you check in but they did include a started bundle of wood for the fire pit. A nice touch. The cabin is in a neighborhood with cabins on each side, but there was still decent privacy & mostly quiet. Our neighbors had 3 bears get in their hot tub one afternoon! Our hot tub was low of water, moldy and could not be enjoyed during our stay. A huge camel cricket crawled up the wall of one of the downstairs bedrooms when we were choosing our bedroom. No biggie for some but my least fave insect. :/ There was a big, fat, fly problem. These were not regular houseflies. Never found the source but there were dozens flying around and dying everywhere. It is the woods, so we understand there can be some insects. The flies were just odd. Very Amityville, lol. The dead flies & hot tub were the reasons for the 4 star cleanliness rating. There were also a few lights out which made the bathroom & some of the rooms dark. I sent an email to report these issues after our stay. They were not important enough for us to wait for maintenance people during our stay. The cabin was peaceful and we loved the location. Upscale residential. Very well might become our main place to stay during our regular visits to the area. =^..^=

Big Bear Lodge
Great place to stay. Awesome view from the back porch. Would recommend. Road to get to the cabin is narrow, steep, and winding though.
