A Home Away From Home
This is a lovely home that my wife and I enjoyed staying in very much. Upon initial inspection the place was very clean, with no odors, and immediately felt both welcoming and comfortable. There was some damage to the wood around the front door lock that looked like it had been repaired with screws and similar damage to the main bathroom door that was not repaired. This initially made us feel a little uneasy, especially coming from a big city, but was quickly forgotten. The beautiful kitchen had a lot of counter space with plenty of dishes, utensils, and cookware. Dining table could easily sit 6 people. Bathrooms were spotless with fresh linens and complimentary essentials. The shower converter in the main bathroom did not seal well causing water to gush from the faucet while using the shower head, which did lead to the hot water running out more quickly. Bedrooms were also very clean with fresh linen. Mattresses were defintely on the firm side, but we still slept comfortably on the one we used. The living room was spacious and had large windows with great views. We never got a chance to use the pellet stove, but everything looked in working order. The large deck had even better views with plenty of seating options. We tried using the table umbrella on a extremely sunny day, but found it was cracked at the joint that bends, which didn't feel safe. The laundry had free & clear detergent which we really appreciated. The washing machine only works in "heavy duty" mode, so don't expect to wash delicate items during your stay. There were several emergency flashlights, a fire extinguisher, as well smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The A/C was easy to use with clear instructions. Wifi was both strong and fast. There was an assortment of board games and dvds, but would suggest bringing a streaming stick for the nights you just want to stay in. The driveway is steep and there are quite few stairs, but both are easy to navigate with caution. The local town is small and quiet, with a little convenience store, and a couple places for food. We mainly went shopping and out to eat in nearby Hood River and White Salmon. Overall, we had an amazing time. If you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle with gorgeous views, this is the place for you. There are only minor things keeping this from being a perfect 5 stars, and I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Highly recommend!

Great view and trails
Nice place. Older house but modern updated kitchen/bathrooms. Really well-stocked kitchen supplies. Amazing views. They have added a tv to the living room, and some streaming was available to us without our own devices. No music player except a 'home pod' device of some kind we didn't know how to use. Steep driveways a bit tricky, and lots of stairs to front door. Great walking trails up bluffs just a block down the street. Was unsettled to find mouse live-traps in closet, which they claim were forgotten about since some repairs in the summer. Otherwise very clean. Mostly fragrance-free, which I appreciate. Couch had some spots/stains that made it seem dingy compared to the modern table/chairs. Deck is huge, but kind of old, and sitting outside wasn't super quiet due to freeway traffic (across the river mostly) and some train noise--but these could not be heard inside. Big sky for star-watching.
