About this property

Houston Camp - Four Luxury Cabins and Hot Tub

Houston Camp is a unique vacation rental opportunity at Lake Tahoe. It sits directly across N. Lake Blvd from Lake Tahoe. Originally constructed in 1935 as a Forest Service compound, Houston Camp has gone through a number of changes throughout its history. Today, we are pleased to welcome travelers to the newly remodeled Houston Camp as a vacation rental compound for families or group gatherings. Houston Camp is composed of four individual cabins:

BASE CAMP The largest of the four cabins. It is completely remodeled with modern amenities such as a steam shower, 50" flat screen television, gas operated fireplace and of course wireless internet. It is literally the gathering place for your family or a group of friends choosing to vacation together. Base camp has a king bed in the loft of the cabin. The kitchen is full sized and well equipped with brand new appliances including a gas range.

UPPER DAVES Upper Daves sits up a slight hill , behind Base Camp. This cabin has a queen size bed, 43" flat screen television, small kitchen with refrigerator, electric cooktop, coffee maker, microwave and stocked with dishware for two guests. Upper Daves also has a small gas fireplace.

TWO TREES Two trees cabin gets its name from the two enormous Pine trees flanking the entrance. This small cabin has a queen size bed, 43" flat screen tv, kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and dishes for two. The bathroom has a heated floor, and newly remodeled shower with glass surround.

CARRIAGE HOUSE Lastly, the Carriage house sits to the side of Base camp. It has a queen size bed, 43" flat-screen television, newly remodeled bathroom with heated floor, and small kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. One hundred yards from Houston Camp down N. Lake Blvd. is the private beach park for property owners.

After a hard day of skiing in the spring or winter, or recreational hiking or mountain biking in the summer or fall, Houston Camp offers the soothing comfort of a private hot tub for all of its guests. Houston Camp is truly a unique vacation rental opportunity to share with your family of friends, while still preserving the opportunity to seek solace and privacy in your own cabin.

Cute property in many ways. Our bedding smelled as if it hadnt been dried properly. Not enough towels for a 5 day stay. Motion detector light over one of the cabins didnt work, no other outside light available for that particular cabin. Adriondak chairs on porch were covered in sap Once we checked out, i sent an email to the property management company, their response blamed us for not calling them while we were there to remedy the situation. Like we wanted housekeeping at 10 pm at night to come, let alone during our stay? extra linens smelled as well. In spite of the above mentioned problems, I woild say that its a great place for 4 couples, for each to have their own cabin. There is a very clean and nice barbecue on the porch, very nice hot tub. The kitchen is stocked nicely.

Tahoe Vacation
The house was exactly how it was described. It worked perfectly for our family vacation with teenagers. We loved the big front deck (could use some umbrellas) and location was great! It is next to the main road so it does get noisy!!
