Knotty by Nature at Eagles Nest - views, game room, outdoor fireplace, firepit

Knotty by Nature (formerly Doodle Ridge) was Custom Built in 2021 and designed for true enjoyment of everything the mountains have to offer! The “mountain modern” décor lends to an extremely comfortable and inviting escape that will be enjoyed by all. There are two fully furnished balconies complete with fireplaces, plus a firepit, all to cozy up to and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Indoors, there are two complete living rooms with fireplaces, plus a game room for the young and young at heart. You will never want to leave!

The family room has plenty of very comfortable seating and a fireplace. There is a smart TV with Hulu live plus all of the streaming options. The dining area is set with a large rustic wooden table which seats 8 guests comfortably and seating for 5 more at the granite countertop in the kitchen. The open kitchen is equipped with brand-new stainless-steel appliances and all the supplies you would need to prepare your family's meals.

Also on the main floor, you will find a half bathroom with modern accents, a fully equipment laundry room and mud room.

The primary King Suite, located on the main level, features a mounted Smart TV, double granite vanity, large shower with 2 shower heads and an enclosed wash closet. Here you will also find a spacious walk-in closet.

Downstairs
As you walk down the stairs, you will enter the huge lower-level Family Room which also features a Game Room with ping pong and air hockey tables, large couch seating and a fireplace and a beautiful half bathroom. There is also a wet bar complete with wine fridge and sink.

There is an additional large bedroom with full bathroom en suite on this level, identical in size to the primary suite, with a large shower and soaking tub.

Upstairs
At the top of the stairs is the open Loft with more comfortable seating and a view that will allow you a quiet area to relax or get some work done while you listen to the excitement below.

Off the Loft are two Queen Suites, each with a full private bathroom and mounted SmartTV. One Suite also has a twin bunkbed.

Un"bear"able
The property Knotty by Nature is a lovely home in a great location in the Eagle Nest neighborhood - but the Blueridge Rental management team support during the stay was a very disappointing. The home lives up to the photos and has all the style and vibe to create a really enjoyable mountain getaway but there were a few concerns. The main floor fireplace (main source of heat) creates a loud boom when it ignites, noticeably moving the heavy metal screen frame. This would wake up the whole house in the middle of the night. The real issue with the property was due to the not being equipped with metal bear resistant trash enclosures. When we arrived at the property it was covered in trash, both food, cigarettes, and personal items. The main driveway had several bear scat piles as well. I called the property management hotline and spoke with a lady who was unable to provide any guidance other than she would let me know when she got a hold of someone. After a couple more calls for updates and no information I ended up cleaning up as much as I could. I wanted my family from out of town to enjoy themselves and I wanted it to be safe for my children and dog. That night the bear came back and knocked over the trashcan, but I secured it further and it was not able to gain access. Late the next morning a team came and helped clean up the rest of the property. They were nice and shared this has been a constant issue in this neighborhood for 2+ years. So be prepared if you book.
