Really wanted it to be a good experience
This was our first time to try short-term rental, and I really wanted to be a good experience, but it did not turn out that way.
The good:
- The beddings seemed to be clean - hard to tell since all black color
- The kitchen counter, sink, fridge, bathrooms floor were clean
- The heating and cooling system was great.
- Communication was good
- No issue getting the door opened
The bad:
- It looks like the house has not been dusted for a long time (baseboard, kitchen cabinet surfaces, fake plants,others). It gives us the impression that cleaning is only on the daily use areas.
- A smoke alarm was beeping was when we got inside the house. I contacted the host and was told it won't get fixed until the next day. How can we sleep if this alarm is beeping through the night? This should not be an issue if just replacing the battery annually. I asked for permission to disable it. I knew what to do and was able to do it.This suggests to us that no one is maintaining the place on regular basis.
- A towel broken and missing. When I reported it, I was told that no one told them. Again, this suggests to us that on one is checking the place after a customer check out.
- Not transparent on the cost. Did not see cleaning fees listed during booking.
We will not stay again.
