About this property

Historic District: South of Broad w/ Private Rooftop Terrace & Parking

Tucked away South of Broad, on one of Charleston's most famous streets, you will find a unique and historic house that has been converted into two modern apartments with historic touches. This second-floor apartment provides 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with antique hardwood floors, an open concept living/dining/kitchen area, and a fabulous rooftop terrace with Charleston views from the Ashley River to the Cooper River.

You will be surprised and delighted with the special touches and updates within, and you will love being South of Broad on the "carriage circuit", near the Battery, Colonial Lake, restaurants, shopping, and everything Downtown living has to offer. Bonus: you have tandem parking for two cars and street parking for guests.

Please note, this is a monthly rental only. The City of Charleston has a draconian ordinance that only allows properties on the National Register of Historic Places to have nightly rental permits in our neighborhood. But at this price, you can book a month for the cost of two weeks in another place!

Great stay in a great part of Charleston
A beautiful “perch” with lots of windows and light. Nicely updated, very clean and well maintained, with an attentive and responsive host. We stayed two months and would do so again. Highly recommended…

I am a native South Carolinian who called Charleston home before moving to Washington, DC. I hope you will enjoy visiting as much as I have loved living here.

I am a real estate agent licensed in SC and VA - if you have any questions about Charleston or would like to talk with a Realtor, I know several I can recommend for you.

Why they chose this property

South of Broad is "the" place to live in Charleston. The rooftop terrace is what sold us on this property. The apartment is nice and very well appointed, but the moment we walked onto the rooftop terrace, we were sold! It really is our favorite place to be, and the views are incredible. Oh, and you have free, off-street parking. A big deal in this part of town.

If you are looking for a party, nightclub atmosphere, then we encourage you to check out upper King Street. If you are looking to experience Charleston like a local, this is the place for you!

What makes this property unique

The location cannot be beat, you are nestled in the heart of historic Charleston in the "high rent district" known as South of Broad. You are off the beaten path, away from the mobs in the tourist district, but you are still in the midst of historic downtown. You are just a few blocks from the Battery, Colonial Lake, and Moultrie Park. Single family homes in our neighborhood sell between $1.5 and $15 million.
