About this property

Trout'n About: Serene 5BR Riverfront Retreat

Trout'n About, the five-bedroom, four and a half bath cabin nestled on a riverbank, delights guests with incredible river views outside and an amazing game room inside while accommodating up to 18 guests in a serene setting that's only minutes away from Pigeon Forge attractions.

LIVING ROOM

Look up–you’ll love the cathedral ceiling, paneled in honey-gold wood and featuring rustic, exposed beams. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows rises to the peak of the roof, giving you expansive views of the lush greenery outside. This bright living room invites you to start a blaze in the stacked stone fireplace and lie back on the leather couches or enjoy a movie on the flat-screen TV.

KITCHEN

The open plan first level means this kitchen shares the living room’s wooded views. You can chat with your family and friends while you cook. Stainless steel appliances, light wood cabinetry, and stone-look countertops make the space elegant. A convenient bar counter provides extra seating for meals or a place to lay out buffets. Try waffles and toppings for breakfast, or tacos with all the fixings for dinner!

Cooking is stress-free because the kitchen includes all the cookware, utensils, serving pieces, and gadgets you’ll need to create your favorite meals from scratch or heat up tasty takeout from Pigeon Forge’s many restaurants.

DINING AREA

Just steps from the living room and kitchen, the dining area sports a Western look, with cowhide patterned chairs and a Southwestern style rug (with a touch of the Smokies, thanks to black bears underfoot!). The table seats eight and four more diners can sit at the bar counter nearby. Food will arrive hot from the kitchen at this table.

BEDROOMS

Trout'n About has five bedrooms and four full baths plus one half bath and sleeps 18. The lower level is home to two queen bedrooms in addition will you find two queen futons and in the alcove a bunk bed, with a twin mattress on top and a full mattress below. There is one large bathroom for guest to share this space.
The main level has one king master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers a bunk bed with twin on top and full on bottom plus a full bath. Additional sleeping in the Living area with a queen sofa sleeper allows for sleeping guests along with access to a half bath. The loft level has two queen beds and a full bath.

Wood paneling throughout the bedrooms brings the outdoors indoors. And every bedroom features a flat-screen TV so you can indulge in some late-night movies without waking anyone else!

GAME ROOM

The lower-level game room is a bonus living area, with a flat-screen TV and leather sofa and loveseat. This cabin is stuffed with games! Hold a family foosball tournament or cheer each other on at air hockey. Learn to play pool on the red-felted pool table. Relive your teen years when you play classic games on the video arcade console. Show the kids how to win! Upstairs in the loft, the golf arcade game Golden Tee tests your skills.

OUTDOOR SPACES

On the main level, a deck with both covered and open sections welcomes you outdoors. Bring a good book and linger in one of the rocking chairs. Fill the bubbling hot tub and soak away your cares. Beneath the deck is a second, covered deck at ground level. Kids will want to hang out here, watching for wildlife in the woods or darting out to play on the green lawn!

The stone fire pit in the yard is s’mores headquarters–bring on the marshmallows! You’ll hear the soothing sound of flowing water from here. River’s Edge has its own private access to the river, so you can dip your toes in the cooling water at any time.

OTHER AMENITIES

Trout'n About includes Wi-Fi for all your needs. Book tickets online to Pigeon Forge’s famous stage shows or check the weather before you take a mountain hike.
A washer and dryer make cleanup simple if that hike gets muddy.

Not quite ready for visitors
I was not happy with my stay at Trout n About. If it were just one or 2 of these things, I would not care. However, all of them combined made for a frustrating vacation. To start with, the house number is not labeled well. Every one who came passed by it. The pictures were misleading and you did not realize that the house is located on a busy 2 lane road with a view of a gas/vape shop from the front. It was incredibly difficult to turn either direction from the house because of the visibility, the amount of traffic, and high speed of vehicles. When we got in the house we found no internet or cable. My husband and brother in law were supposed to work from the cabin Thursday and Friday and were not able to. This is a very big deal. I had to make 4-5 phone calls and we never received service. In addition to that we had the following issues: cobwebs in the ceiling inside and out, broken toaster, door nob fell off one of the bedrooms, missing lightbulbs, REALLY dirty ceiling fan in the main room, the Golden Tee was broken, and the door was off it's hinges upstairs. Like I said, if it was just a thing or 2 it wouldn't have been a big deal. No place is perfect. However, this cabin just appeared to not be ready for visitors at all. And we got the checkout instructions, 2 hours AFTER checkout.

Great quite place to stay
Our stay was wonderful. So much to do. The hot tub was amazing after a long day on the town. The fire pit came in clutch for campfire stories. Plenty of space for everyone to sleep and shower and hang out!
