About this property

DE-stress in this quiet, serene cottage. Mountains, Horses, Verde River, Peace.

Super friendly and safe neighborhood, lots of ATV and walking paths. We welcome our guests to 2 cozy bedrooms and a clean, beautifully decorated bathroom. Both beds have SUPER SOFT sheets and pillowcases. :) A water Well is on the premises. Large porch w/ propane blue glass firepit and a propane BBQ. Tables and chairs for outside eating as well. Large front porch has 3 stairs going up. There is a railing on both sides to hold onto and a Watch Your Step sign for your safety. The yard is over 1/3 of an acre, ALL fenced in w/ grass (in the Summer and then leaves and sometimes snow in the winter). Your dogs will LOVE it as much as YOU do! :)

Relax in our nice living room with reclining couches, SUPER SOFT throw blankets, and an electric fireplace/heater to curl up to, a 65" Sony TV. Amazon Firestick TV is there for your streaming/watching pleasure. Wi-fi is hooked up and works good. The kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, dish washer, a Keurig coffee maker and coffee, a microwave, and an air fryer. A washer and dryer have their own space next to the kitchen. Fire alarms in ALL rooms and tested regularly. All living amenities available for you and your family! Our living room & kitchen areas are newly floored with beautiful wood and new carpet in both bedrooms. All newly painted and decorated. Clean. We are 4 miles from the local corner store/restaurant, and 13 miles from town. Beautiful drive from freeway to home with pullovers for viewing. Great views all around. :)

Adventure
A beautiful little gem outside of Payson. We were looking for remote place to let our dog run loose and this for the bill! Only complaint is the back fence is not secure so our pup did get out once. The house it's self is extremely cozy. It's the yard and porch that make this place special because they are beautiful! If you're looking for a place to get some R &R outdoors this is the place for you!

Wonderful stay
Took my dogs up over new years for some well needed rest and relaxation and we had a blast . The dogs played so hard in the nice fenced in yard and the neighborhood was quiet and we had visits from the cows that were roaming around .jill was great . Thank you Jill we will be back soon!

Great House/Inaccurate Location
The house is lovely and provides for a very comfortable stay. The host has gone above and beyond to make it enjoyable and uplifting to stay there. She leaves many handwritten notes, has provided comfortable furnishings and a well stocked kitchen with quality appliances. (I like to cook when I'm on the road) The front porch is large and so welcoming. It provides for many different seating arrangements. The location descriptors in the VRBO listing are inaccurate. It states the house is 0.3 miles from Payson Center, 6 min walk to the hospital and 3-4 minute drive to most restaurants, etc. All of that is incorrect. The house is actually in Gisela a 30 minute drive from Payson. We didn't get the actual address and directions until the day before we traveled so it was too late to get a full refund (the host did offer a 50% refund) and it was too late to try and book another house. We come to Payson often to visit our son's family and be involved in their daily activities. The location of the house complicated that greatly. I did reach out to VRBO to correct the listing.

Location in Gisela not Payson
Location when booking claims to be in Payson. Only after paying do you get true location which is 18 miles south of Payson. Booked the day before trip so trip was non refundable. We booked to visit snow in Payson only to find out we were not 13 miles from town of Payson like the vague description says but 18 miles below Payson where there was no snow just mud rain and sleete. There is a very long winding road you have to drive on for 5 miles before even getting to the 87 to drive into Payson. The host blames VRBO on the actual location of her listing and takes no responsibility for the misleading information. The house is cozy but the neighborhood has many houses that have collections of junk in their yards. There is also a septic issue in the bathroom with a very foul odor. The heat in the house is mainly a very tiny space heater that makes a squeaking noise intermittently. We tried using the actual heater but every time it was turned on it would be turned off by the host. It’s a nest heater which can be controlled remotely. She would not let it go above 50 degrees. The large reclining couch which faces the tv does not work. Only the small love seat which the far left seat you can barely see the tv from works. This was a very disappointing trip and we were glad when it was over. Informed host of the biggest issue which was the location but she just argues and goes in circles not wanting to fix the problem. It will end up costing her money losing guests because of bad reviews

Time to disconnect
Our stay was exactly what me and my husband needed to relax and disconnect with our dogs. The neighbors and local business was very friendly. The directions and overall checkin process was very helpful and easy to follow. . Would definetely consider staying again.

I am from Chicago originally and have lived in the valley, but have been going north of the valley since I was 21. I started with a small trailer, then a bigger trailer, then a bigger trailer, and finally a home! I am up there in between guests. I love it! So peaceful. So safe. Everyone waves as they pass and greets you when they walk by if they see you. My fit watch goes from a stress level of 33-42, to 13-19. Seriously. :)

Why they chose this property

BEAUTIFUL drive from freeway to home with pull-off spots to observe and take pictures! The town is quiet and remote. No sirens. No loud cars. No pollution. No house parties with loud music are allowed. No illegal drugs. No smoking allowed inside or on porch. We have respect for our little town and they have the same respect. NO fires please. Danger to all. The yards are very large all around mine with NO close neighbors, so there IS much privacy and space in between. Small town with good morals! 15 mph roads please. Now get out there and have the FUN!

What makes this property unique

Peace. Serene. Fresh. Friendly. Safe. River. ATVing. Walking. Hiking. Beautiful views surrounding of mountains and horses. :)
