Super cute and clean but off the beaten path
Owner was super sweet and very responsive to questions. Home is cute, clean and quiet. All the little extras were certainly appreciated although with it being a wedding weekend, we didn't get to spend much time there.

Amazing Peace of Heaven
We had an amazing time and fell in love with Penelope Pointe!! Beautifully decorated Farmhouse, with every amenity you may need. The house is secluded and peaceful with lots of trees and nature views to enjoy from the enclosed porch. We saw tons of deer and birds and the 2 donkeys that live on site are super cute! We definitely made tons of amazing memories. We visited the Springs, ate dinner at High Springs and visited their cool Brewery and antique stores. We also ate at the house and even built a fire outside, played music and even danced under the stars. Communication with Takara was amazing. She is, by far, the best host, I have ever had!! I would give them 10 Stars if I could!! Thank you for making our weekend so memorable!! We are definitely planning to come back!!

Total tranquility
Takara was a fantastic host. The estate was the perfect quiet getaway. The house was fully stocked and spotless. It was decorated like something out of a farm house magazine. Anything you need or could think you would want is within reach. The property has some farm animals and they have the cutest personalities. We looked forward to hanging out with them in the early evening. Perfect place to get off the grid. Can’t wait to go back in winter.

Comfortable country home
Stayed here with my mom and sister while visiting family. We had such a wonderful relaxing visit! Our hosts were readily available to answer any questions and accommodate our requests. The home is so warm and inviting and loved the country vibe. Beds were very comfortable. One was firm and the other 2 were like sleeping on a cloud. I loved sitting on the porch in the morning drinking my coffee and taking in the peaceful scenery. Loved watching the donkeys play. Great stay. Will definitely stay here in the future if we visit again.

Hi- We love to travel when we aren't busy working. I am an RN and my husband is active Florida National Guard. Recently, we decided to try out hosting our vacation home to see how it goes. We just listed it for the first time on Airbnb this week (Sept 7th, 2022) and today (Sept. 9th, 2022) on VRBO. We have several more pictures listed on Airbnb if you are interested (more user friendly w/less requirements on size of pics). We hope you feel welcomed and comfortable, that is our goal. Please ask if you have any questions at all.

Why they chose this property

Penelope Pointe is a very special home for us. We stumbled on this property in 2014 during a military transfer. We instantly fell in love, cancelling all of our remaining housing appt's that day. We became the owners shortly after turning the property into a farm. We lived here for more than 2 years prior to being transferred back home to Lakeland, Florida. We decided to keep it as a long term rental re-homing all of our animals except for our 3 donkeys (Penelope, Caleb-the dark brown one, and Elvis their baby). In 2018, we lost Penelope. Her sweetness captured many hearts over time (especially mine) so it seemed most appropriate to name this property after her, thus Penelope Pointe. In June of 2021, we decided to non renew and keep this property as our family vacation home. We have been working hard remodeling/updating it since January 2022 (new roof, kitchen, gravel drive). We still have the bathrooms to update along with the outside front deck area (planned for Spring 2023). We hope you will enjoy the tranquility of this property as much as we do and overlook any flaws. We are also open to any suggestions :)

What makes this property unique

Donkeys- Our two donkeys are very friendly however, as with all animals, they can be unpredictable. Due to liability issues, we are not able to permit you to feed or pet them. Please though, enjoy watching them graze or play. Of note, they do try to mate on occasion so please be mindful if you have littles. ** Also, please don't open any of the gates to ensure they don't get out and to keep you safe. Thank you!

Wildlife- We have many wildlife that visit. Please no hunting on or near our property. Please just enjoy the view :)
