Cute Little Home in a Cute Little Community
My family enjoyed our stay at this house. The property was clean, check in was easy, the neighborhood was quiet, and the property manager was professional and easy to work with. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit the area.

Never felt more welcome
The place itself was cute, comfy and very thoughtfully stocked. But what really made the trip was the host--so conscientious, communicative, and kind. When traveling, it is always so nice to feel like you are in good hands, and I don't think I have ever felt more like this was the case!

Mostly retired ex restaurateur. After 40 years away and living in the big city, in 2018, I moved back to my original childhood stomping grounds here in western Colorado and eastern Utah. I fell in love with Helper with it's art and western charm and decided to call it home. I do now live down the road in Price but Helper will always be my first Utah love and home. With my spare time I refinish furniture that I love, newish or old, and other misfit objects. If you stay in my Helper house you will be surrounded by my recycled finds. My best friend says I restore surfaces. My décor pieces both at home and in my once upon time home and now Airbnb could be coined "early miscellaneous". For thrills I thrift and take my 90 year old Mom on excursions usually involving a picnic with my dog Harry, a girl Pug/Chihuahua. Harry is obsessed with fetch, it's a problem. My background is in the hospitality industry. I worked in restaurants my entire working career and owned my own restaurant in Portland Oregon for 23 years. I like working with people and made my living in customer service, always.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with Helper. After having spent my entire adult life in a few cities I really appreciated the diversity and culture of Helper. and needed it to thrive. On top of that I found this sweet little fixer upper, and that's my art. I am surface restorer. Of the surfaces I have refurbished, that would include all of them in my charming house. I bought Palmer Place in 2018 and made it mine. This was my house and these are my things. This is no cookie cutter purchased property filled with ikea furniture (Although don't get me wrong, there is some ikea, I love Ikea). It is such a great house with so much eclectic charm and coziness. The yard and it's sunflowers that are out of control attract dozens of birds including adorable colorful finches. I leave the sunflowers alone even after they die and snow is on the ground because the birds feed on them through the fall and into the winter. The mountains as the backdrop are breathtaking and quaint downtown Helper is walking distance. It's a great spot.

What makes this property unique

Walking distance to Helper downtown with it's art galleries and stores and a restaurant or two. There is also a great coffee house. If you walk towards the bookcliffs on the north side of the house there is a great walking trail as well as the river walk just a block west of Main Street. 8 miles down the road is Price with it museum and wave pool. Not far from Helper is famous 9 mile canyon with its ancient petroglyphs.
