Started off rocky, ended okay.
Mistakes were made; however, they were remedied. 14 people traveling from out of state for the Solar Eclipse - booked this property 1 year in advance.
-Initially unable to get in touch with property owner/manager a few weeks prior to check in - ultimately had to call VRBO twice to be connected with someone.
-Two hrs before check in, received an email stating our reservation was cancelled due to unforeseen damage and maintenance - did not include lodging options or a resolution to the problem, just that it was being cancelled. We went to the home regardless to find out there was work being done on the roof after water damage - the rest of the house was in livable condition. After panicking for a few hours, were finally able to speak to someone who stated we could continue to stay at the home with the construction crew coming and going for two days and we would receive a credit for that time. This was fine with us as there likely wasn't any other options for 14 people to stay together during the busiest weekend in Dallas. They also sent some cookies.
-Originally offered pool heat at an additional cost/day - later told pool heat no longer available due to high costs, given another credit or this inconvenience.
-Breaker that controls the power to the dishwasher tripped, the breaker box is in the garage which is locked, had to contact the property managers again to have someone come out, unlock the garage and flip the breaker.
All in all, everything was fine but it was stressful.
