Access roads are primarily paved with the final road being well-packed gravel. Four-wheel drive is not necessary to reach the cabin. The Bear Pause main entry is accessed either by steps or ramp. The front door enters into the open dining, kitchen, and living area on the main floor. The dining table seats four, while the kitchen has counter seating for two. The kitchen is equipped with side-by-side refrigerator/freezer; electric stove with smooth cooktop; microwave; dishwasher; coffee grinder and drip coffee maker; Keurig coffee maker; four-slice toaster; blender; various cookware, bakeware, and cooking utensils; eight place settings of dinnerware; hot beverage mugs; and various cold beverage glasses. The living area focal point is the gas log fireplace. There is plenty of comfortable seating for playing one of our board or card games, watching tv, or just enjoying one another's company. There is both front and rear access to the main level porch, which wraps around three sides of the cabin. This porch has outdoor seating, a gas grill, a fire table, and a picnic table. A bathroom with combination tub and shower and a queen bedroom is also on the main level. This arrangement is perfect for guests who find stairs to be challenging.

Stairs to the upper level take you directly into a designated workspace. To the right is the entry into the upstairs queen bedroom and bathroom suite. This bedroom has access to a private rear balcony with seating. The upstairs bathroom has a jetted bathtub and walk-in shower.

Stairs to the lower level take you to the downstairs game room and hangout area and give you immediate access to the lower-level back porch. The game room and hangout area are equipped with comfortable seating, a tv, electric fireplace heater, table for playing games or eating, games and puzzles, and a 60 in 1 video arcade.

At Bear Pause, we take your health and well-being seriously. We allow 24 hours between bookings. Our housekeeping team sanitizes all indoor and outdoor high-touch and fabric surfaces with sanitizing cleansers and sprays. Our linens are laundered and sanitized in-house after each booking.

At Bear Pause cabin, guests are within minutes of all that the tri-state area has to offer: over 106,000 acres of Chattahoochee National Forest, over 300 miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, four lakes, over 100 miles of trout streams, the Toccoa and Ocoee Rivers, the Appalachian and Benton Mackaye Trails, Vogel and Amicalola Falls State Parks, Brasstown Bald, apple orchards, mini farms, wineries and craft breweries, a drive-in movie theater, horseback riding stables, restaurants, boutique and upscale shopping, art galleries, indoor and outdoor mini golf, seasonal zip-lining and tubing, gem mining, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association Art Center, the Hiawassee Fairgrounds, John C.
