Stony Kill Ranch - Bohemian Paradise on Minnewaska

Stony Kill Ranch is a newly renovated modern rustic ranch located on the border of 22,000 acres of untouched wilderness.

Before booking, please be aware of our additional fees for guests over 4 to cover maintenance, cleaning and upkeep on the property.

Up to 2 dogs are allowed for your stay, but we do charge a fee given additional cleaning and maintenance on the home.

Only about 2 hours from NYC, Stony Kills Ranch is a bright 4-bedroom house with a wraparound deck sitting on 30 acres of gorgeous green property. Our house is perfect for any weekend getaway or vacation with family and friends. Year-round, guests can soak in the outdoor hot tub, stargaze from the porch and roast marshmallows around our fire-pit. You can even take a short walk directly to the famous Stony Kill Falls, a spectacular waterfall that flows off of a high ledge and down into shallow green pools. Spend the summer weekends, camping, hiking, grilling outside and playing horseshoe in our horseshoe pits. During winter, enjoy nearby winter hiking, snowshoeing, ice climbing or cross-country skiing.

-------------
The house
Three floors, four bedrooms—downstairs we have a full kitchen (with dishwasher!), living room with Sonos speakers, a dining room, and a working wood stove. Two bedrooms upstairs have king size beds, one has a queen size bed and the one has bunk beds perfect for kids. (Or, honestly, even adults—the mattresses are very comfortable.) Guests will find the home stocked with all the necessary amenities including towels, linens, kitchen basics and toiletries.

Forget something? Wal-Mart Supercenter is ten minutes away and you have quick access to a number of farmers markets and restaurants in Kerhonkson, Accord, High Falls, Stone Ridge, and Rosendale. New Paltz is just 25 minutes away.

We’re also a quick 20 min to the Shawangunk Mountains (or, the “Gunks”), famous among rock climbers—also home to waterfalls like Verkeerderkill, Awosting, Buttermilk and VerNooykill.

The property includes a hot tub for you to relax in, a grill on the deck, a music studio to jam out in (bring your own guitar, we got the rest), take a dip in our stock tank pool (warm weather only!), warm up next to our firepit/fireplace or watch a movie with our outdoor projector and screen. Additionally, we have an assortment of activities from horseshoes, foosball to board games. NOTE: the ATV is not for guests to use.

*Stock Tank Pool is closed every season on 10/15 and reopened Memorial Day weekend.

------------
Jam shed

Use our shed as space to rehearse, record or just jam out! Just please let us know if you’d like to use it, and we may ask for an additional deposit. We have a full drum set and other equipment already set up— if you’re interested in using the space, we can give you a full rundown of what’s available and what you’d need to bring along.

------------
Projector and movie viewing

The projector will be located in the kitchen closet near the stairs on the first floor. Detailed instructions on how to use the projector will be located in the guidebook at the house. Please put everything back in its original place when done. Please note the projector only works with the provided DVD player of which we have plenty of movies for viewing.

------------
Infants

Please understand that the house is not infant-proof. There are sharp edges, corners, and many other things that could be dangerous for an infant. If bringing an infant, you agree to take full responsibility and liability should anything happen.

Guests will be able to access the full house and Jam Shed when open.

We are just a phone call or text message away and are excited to provide recommendations or help if needed.

Nestled in pristine forest of Minnewaska State Park, the Ranch comes with a long list of outdoor activities right in our backyard: climbing, fishing, hiking, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more.

A vehicle is necessary to visit the property and we have plenty of parking. If some of the members of your group need a ride there is a bus from Manhattan called Trailways that goes every hour to New Paltz which is 25 minutes from the home (beautiful drive). Here they can either be picked up or take a taxi for $35.

Please note the Stock Tank pool is chlorinated and has a pump filtering on a daily basis.

Note: All Holiday weekends require a 3-night minimum to book. Due to higher demand and costs, we are unable to accommodate the shorter stay on these dates.

Great weekend getaway!
Some friends and our pups were looking to spend a nice weekend upstate with our dogs to relax and spend time, and this place was perfect. The location is GREAT! It is near hiking trails, some breweries/orchards and while we didn’t go to dinner, there were restaurants around as well. The house was as described, spacious and had a lot to offer. We loved spending time in the hot tub and around the fire pit. The jam shed was a lot of fun for some in our group too! Check in was easy and when we had a couple of questions regarding our stay, the host was helpful immediately- even arranged to have wood dropped off when there wasn’t any. We loved every minute & would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Cousins Trip
My cousins and I had an amazing time! The house was clean and comfortable. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions. The outdoor area and jam shed really set this place apart! We are already talking about doing it again next year
