Wonderful place to stay!
This was a beautifully decorated cabin that has everything you need. Perfect location for skiing at Loveland. Can't wait to come back again sometime!

2nd stay at the Chickadee
We enjoyed our first stay so much that we decided to book again for a ski weekend at Loveland. We love how cozy the place is, and its proximity to Loveland ski area, and restaurants etc. in Georgetown and Idaho Springs. Its a perfect home base for relaxing afternoons/evenings after a good morning on the slops. We'll be back again, for sure.

Perfect stay for our family of 3!
The property was exactly as advertised, and incredibly charming. We used it as a spring board for a few ski days at Loveland, and it was a lovely little place to come home to after a long day on the slopes. We look forward to another stay in the future.

Next-level hosts!
Diane and her husband Jeff were extremely hospitable to us when we stayed at their VRBO, the Chickadee! There was a bad storm the day we got in, so we were nervous about getting to the cabin and Diane had reached out to warn us about the weather and keep in touch day-of. We rented a pickup truck with 4WD, which we would definitely recommend doing because it was very helpful for driving in the snow. We slid a little bit on our way up the road to the cabin and reversed down the road a bit, and Diane and Jeff just happened to be coming in at the same time. Jeff drove our truck up to the cabin for us and for that we are forever indebted to him. It was easy after watching him do it once. Dumont isn't a huge town, but it has a ski rental place (with a coffee shop inside) and a gas station; what more could you really ask for? Our hosts also recommended trying Tommyknocker Brewery in Idaho Springs (next town over, has a safeway grocery store and some tourist attractions) and it was delicious! We skied at Winter Park and it was a beautiful drive to get there. Our hosts were willing to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable! The bed was comfortable, the place looked exactly like the photos, and there was a great DVD selection. We also were glad for the laundry machines so we could return home with clean clothes! 5/5 experience, would recommend to anyone!!!

That's Todd. We have MANY Todd photos. We live just across the creek (and through the woods) from The Chickadee. We love the serenity of our small forest neighborhood, the wildlife, stargazing, and amazing hikes. We want you to enjoy all the area has to offer too - please let us know if there is anything you need to make the most out of your stay.

What makes this property unique

15% "Chickadee" discount exclusively for our guests at Mountain Mamas' Needful Things in Georgetown.
Hiking trails are in private community. You can hike for hours on the various trails - we have seen moose, elk and other wildlife on our hikes, but very seldom other hikers!
