The Gold Hill House

The Gold Hill House sits atop a slope overlooking a railroad, pasturelands with a herd of “Oreo” cows and a large scenic backyard. This home accommodates six guests for relaxing weekends, just outside the bustle of Auburn but close enough for a short drive into town whether it be Auburn or Opelika. Our home is less than 10 miles from the AU campus and 10 miles from shopping and restaurants in Tiger Town. Kitchen views are breathtaking! Don’t forget to peek at the sunset during your stay!

Great in every way - skip the hotels
We were in town for AU graduation, hotels were crazy expensive and we needed 3 rooms. This house provided the perfect alternative and then some. It has great areas to sit and relax, both inside and out, and easily accommodated our family. It’s like the VRBO commercial where everyone hurries inside and runs around each corner to a surprise and the dad is secretly fist pumping bc everyone is happy! Bedrooms and baths were large, shower was hot, tv room can be used as 3rd bedroom and pull out couch was comfortable. Kitchen is amazing unforgettable modern farmhouse vibe with top of the line stove. Was so very well stocked with snacks and drinks, it was like being at a bed and breakfast, but staying by yourself. Great restaurant 5 minutes away in Waverly Local, or be in downtown Auburn in less than 15. Whether in town for a game, event or just want a sense of small town authentic Alabama, this vintage farmhouse is highly recommended!

Great place!
This place has all the charm you’d hope for in a 1906 country home, but all the modern amenities you’d want/need. It’s just a short 10 min drive into Auburn, where we spent most of our time. But on a very busy football weekend, we enjoyed getting out of the hustle & bustle!

Amazing house!
Close enough to Auburn for convenience but far enough away from the chaos on a football weekend to make it a perfect location and relaxing time! Will definitely try and stay here again

Fantastic stay!
House was immaculate. Nice touches in the kitchen. Porch was fantastic to sit on. Easy to get to and quiet after a busy day on campus. Would definitely stay again when we are visiting Auburn. Thanks Sheri!
