About this property

Oceanfront cabin out the road and steps to the beach

Unbeatable views. Beachfront cabin with southern exposure and lots of natural light is private, quiet, cozy. 1,400 sq. feet. 2BR. Second bedroom is expansive, enclosed upstairs loft. 1 bathroom with shower (no tub). Fully furnished. Washer/dryer. Bathroom fully remodeled and modern. Features: wifi, 42-inch TV, basic cable (can stream your own subscription services, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, etc.), working wood stove, full kitchen, outdoor beachfront fire pit. Historic Alaska yellow cedar log homestead cabin is clean, cozy, warm, dry and full of character. Private driveway or street parking. Driveway is steep gravel; 4WD or front-wheel drive recommended but not required. With ocean and wildlife out front door this is a unique Alaska experience where you can often spot humpback whales, orca, sea lions, seals, bald eagles and other wildlife from the kitchen table. Located “out the road” with views of Lynn Canal, Admiralty Island and Shelter Island, a beach walk right outside the front door, a five-minute drive to Auke Bay food and nightlife and an easy 15-minute drive to Mendenhall Glacier, this is a perfect base camp for trails, mountain hikes, paddling and other adventures. Or just enjoy uninterrupted cabin tranquility. Three miles from Auke Bay ferry terminal, eight miles from Juneau airport, 15 miles from downtown Juneau.

IMPORTANT: Signed rental agreement and government-issued photo i.d. required to secure reservation.

WEATHER: When snow and/or ice are present, the cabin is accessible only by foot down the short, steep driveway. Roadside parking available through the winter.

Juneau Gem
Spent impromptu spring break at this charming cabin on the water. Non stop parade of water fowl, otters, seals and sea lions. Will definitely stay here again next time we're in Juneau.

Lena Beach Escape
While Juneau is already isolated from the rest of Alaska, this renovated 1929 Scandinavian log cabin places you on the far edge of town, right on the coast, and with incredible views of the ocean and surrounding wildlife. The property has all the amenities of home, but the environment pulls you to the panoramic view of the maritime highway, watching the tides rise and fall throughout the day. Great hosts, clean cabin, comfortable beds & warm wood stove. Amazing stay!

Amazing Place For An Alaskan Adventure!
We loved this cabin from the moment we walked in! Rustic but clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for our family of 4 and the kids loved being able to look for rocks on the beach right outside the front door or sit by the firepit. Close enough to town so that it's no big deal to drive in each day but far out enough to get your dose of wilderness. Make sure you have the right vehicle for getting down that steep driveway!
