About this property

Flathead Bear Getaway Cabin - 1 mile to a Flathead Lake Beach

Are you looking for a relaxing time in the Flathead, where you can sit by a firepit, disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself - The Flathead Getaway Cabins are for you. Our Historic cabin made a 300-mile trek, from outside of Yellowstone Park to Woods Bay. We totally remodeled and updated this cabin into two private cabins. You can reserve either the Moose or Bear Getaway Cabin or rent both. The Bear cabin's "Great Room" has a vaulted ceiling, fully functional kitchen, TV, electric fireplace and a futon for 2 additional guests. The front porch faces a wooded area and has a firepit. You have access to a hiking trail only a few yards up from the cabin. Each cabin has 2 hiking sticks and bear spray for guests. The Bigfork and Woods Bay communities offer fine restaurants, fine arts, Theater, Live Music, golfing, Horseback Riding, all kinds of water sports, biking, hiking, fishing and more. The Flathead Getaway Cabins are 30 miles to the Glacier National Airport and only 40 miles to Glacier National Park.

We are both Montana natives that are excited to share alittle of our Flathead heaven. Our roots have always been in Montana from Butte, Bozeman and the Flathead. The original cabin was used as a fishing cabin on the bank of the Madison River in SouthWest Montana. We have enjoyed remodeling every property we have owned. We purchased this cabin knowing that it needed to be moved to a new location. After two years of hard work we are now ready to share our cabin with others. Enjoy your stay.

Why they chose this property

There is nothing better than a true Montana experience by staying in a historic cabin that has been totally remodeled to provide modern conveniences while keeping the warm comfort of living in a cozy cabin with original tongue and groove paneling. You're within yards from walking in the Mission Range. We even supply the walking sticks and bear spray for your convenience and safety. You're also only less than a mile to a public beach on Flathead Lake and we supply beach towels for your use.
