About this property

The Farm House

The Farm House was built by a Mennonite family, Nissley's in the early 1950's. they built and operated a dairy until 1969 when they retired and sold the property to my family. We wanted to preserve the house and its history and to share the peace and tranquility with those travelers who might need a retreat or a "home away from home".

Deer and other wildlife often come by for a visit! Enjoy but also understand that hunting isn't allowed.
The Farm House is a 3 bedroom one and a half bath with a great room for living area and separate dining area with a fully equipped kitchen.

It is surrounded by a front porch with rockers and a screened in side porch with table to enjoy meals outside with your family. The back porch overlooks the firepit and deer feeder. The are is very peaceful and our guests are very complimentary on our house. It is located on twelve acres and has a circular driveway.

It is located about 8 minutes north of Blountstown, 10 minutes south of Altha and 20 minutes south of Marianna and the Florida State Caverns.

Quaint, Charming and Peaceful
This place was perfect. From the sweet handwritten thank you letter from our host accompanied by a few snacks and refreshments in the fridge, we felt at home right away. The farmhouse sits on a beautiful piece of property. We enjoyed watching the sunsets and deer from the front porch each evening. The beds were super comfy and the recliners in the living room became the prized spot when watching football. Scott, the owner, was super accommodating and easy to contact if we had questions. We will certainly be back!

My father was a family practice doctor in our community and a gentleman farmer. My family owned about 800 acres of land next to this property which I grew up working on raising cows and row cropping. My father bought this house in 1969 and I bought it from my brothers and sister in 2021.
I'm a retired pharmacist and my wife Vicki retired from a 40 year career in banking. We love hosting folks from all over the country and sharing our beautiful and peaceful Farm House. I often go out and sit on the front porch rocking chair and recall childhood memories of working with my dad on the land surrounding the house.
I'm sure you will feel the same peace and build some special memory of staying at the Farm House.

Why they chose this property

Comfortable, quiet and close to beaches, the capital of Florida, rivers, Florida Caverns.

What makes this property unique

Very quiet and peaceful. Lots of wildlife...often deer feeding in the yard.
