About this property

Riverfront, Treehouse-like Getaway!

Great things happened in the ‘80s, like arcades, mullets, and the construction of this cabin. Welcome to “Mullet on the River,” a Scandinavian-inspired mountain retreat with a “party in the back,” aka the East Verde River! From the two-tiered deck amongst towering Ponderosa pines, life's busyness fades away and the soothing sounds of the forest make you forget you’re less than two hours from Phoenix. A perfect home base for hiking, fishing, off-roading, stargazing, or just plain getting away.

Family trip
This rental is great to get away from it all. Spotty to no cell reception but good wifi. We have elementary aged kids and they loved everything. The house is in a quiet neighborhood of whispering pines. Nice neighbors. The house is clean and comfortable. The home owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome with stocked supplies (even snacks if you need them), a cute smores tray, books and games woods/cabin themed, a record player, comfortable beds, a firepit, great backyard deck ameneties including a hammock... The creek was flowing when we were there and there is direct access down a rocky slope but we all were able to walk down and explore no peoblem. Tons of walking trails in the area where you can hunt for gem stones to crack open, see "domestic" wild elk roaming and even come into the property yard to eat grass, beautiful birds and butterflies... Go! Sit still. See so, so much without going anywhere and enjoy some time away from it all. A quote from my youngest shortly after arriving, "This place has everything. These people are pros at hosting a vacation house." Thank you for sharing your oasis!

Great Property
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet neighborhood and although the creek wasn't running the snow made it absolutely beautiful. All the amenities are well thought out and the little details are covered. We probably had the record player playing the entire time. Nothing better then to listen to good music, while drinking a glass of wine, staring at a fire, and have snow coming down.

Lovely home - close to great hiking
This home is nicely updated with high quality products (very nice bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, etc). Very relaxing and comfortable. The back yard is serene but unfortunately, the river was dry. Location great - very close to many trailheads. Owners were very friendly and easy to work with!
