Fabulous historic home
This is a wonderful place! We had a group of 8 who stayed for Thanksgiving weekend. Everyone kept remarking about how much they loved the house and the property. We used all 5 bedrooms, and everyone had plenty of privacy. The house is so big that noise doesn't carry, so if someone is up early, they don't disturb those who want to sleep late. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need, and the beds were very comfortable. And the property is spectacularly beautiful, with long-range views and a gorgeous garden that was still in bloom in November. The property has been in the same family for years, and it is obviously well loved. The management company is extremely responsive, positive and helpful. This was one of our favorite rentals ever!

Felt Like Home
We have rented a lot of properties in the past but this was by far the best. The property was beautiful and the house was cozy and well appointed. The family who owns the house had books displayed which explained their interesting history, history of the area, and you could feel the love and pride in their family and community. The people/company who runs the property were attentive and made themselves available if we needed anything. We were there for daughter’s surprise engagement. Photo opps around property were countless. Super cozy for our family to be able to share a meal, sit on the front porch and the living room and just be together and celebrate the special day. Beautiful memories made and this home was a wonderful place to make them.

Beautiful Historic home
Beautiful. Built in 1805. The only negative thing I would sai is it doesn’t have central air so in the summertime it gets pretty hot & stuffy in the house. We had a very relaxing time.

Eola-Amity heaven
What a wonderful surprise. This plays was immaculate, it was far superior than any description can warrant. This family farm had tons of character, charm, care, and warmth. It’s a Sprawling private estate, rarely seen and or visited, but recently opened up on Vrbo, and I’m so grateful and honored for it . We enjoyed the walks around the house, and other buildings on this 64 acre ranch. The cemetery at Bethel Hills was breathtaking, and a great stroll late afternoon as the westerly breeze winds up to cool everything down in the summer. Everything that was necessary was provided. Communication with the team was the best yet. I’ve stayed at plenty of Vrbo’s, This was my best experience thus far. I would like to thank the family for opening up their history and love for this place it’s nothing less than spectacular. Thank you so much. This was a great place to hit the entire Willamette Valley. “I’ll be back” Greg

Porch Light Vacation Rentals is a local, women-owned, vacation rental management company. We strive to provide excellent customer service to our owners who entrust us with their homes, and our guests who entrust us with their memories. What a privilege we have to serve them both!

Why they chose this property

It is such an experience to spend time at this historic farmhouse - close to the land - close to what made the Willamette Valley what it is today. The views from the porch, the lawn, and the living room are unbeatable.

What makes this property unique

Barn Owl Hill Farm is a working crop farm. Guests are welcome to amble around the property but the outbuildings and barns are off-limits due to safety. Guests should be aware that there is active farming on the property which includes 24 hours of harvest machinery during harvest which lasts one to two days. Harvest will happen sometime between the end of July and the end of August - exact timing is dependent on the weather. Other activity during various times of the spring and summer can include planting and tilling and similar goings-on.
