About this property

Storm Peak Lodge at Wildcat Canyon Private 40 Acres!

The Storm Peak Lodge at Wildcat Canyon is located in the remote San Juan National Forrest. This spacious lodge shares with you the hidden splendor this part of the state has to offer! With 360 degree views, this lodge is the perfect escape to kick back, put your feet up, and enjoy one of the decks. There are countless adventures to be had on the 48 acre lot that backs up to the San Juan National Forrest in the Wildcat Canyon. This property operates as a working ranch with a strong herd of mules and horses being on the back side of the lodge. The lot includes rolling hills, woodlands, creek front, riverfront, and trails. It is ideal for any time of the year but peak activities include, ATV-ing, hunting, skiing, sledding, fishing, hiking, weddings, and family reunions. Weddings and events can be held right on the property as we sleep 30+ in the large lodge. The lodge is unique in so many ways but the most prominent difference among other lodges is our solar power. The Lodge operates off of solar panels for an eco-freindly, off grid stay!

Storm Peak Lodge is just 30 miles south of Telluride and Mountain Village where you can ski, golf, shop, and ride the free gondola. Dolores is also 20 miles in the southern direction offering McPhee Resevoir for all of your lake activities. Cortez is located 40 miles south of the lodge and has a wide variety of restaurants as well as offering Mesa Verde National Park, Canyon of the Ancients, Four Corners Monument, and Phil's World renowned biking area. Day trips to charming downtown Durango are also possible at 70 miles away to participate in the Narrow Gauge Railroad, zip lining, museums, shopping, and more!

If you are planning on hosting a wedding or large event at the lodge please reach out to learn about our accommodations and additional wedding/event fees that are based on the size of your party.

A Dream
This property is absolutely perfect for a getaway with your family. We had a wedding on the property and the background scenery was absolutely beautiful! Even though it was late April and we weren’t sure on weather conditions the snow wasn’t a problem at all. It wasn’t too terribly cold and Mark made sure we had plenty of wood for the fireplace. Mark was great about providing any and everything we needed. I would rebook this house in a heart beat.

Annual Ski Trip with Family
Outstanding time in this huge house. Plenty of seats at the table and kitchen bar to feed all of us but and still be in the same room. Plenty of blankets, pillows, sheets and towels for an Army. 45 min drive to Ski Telluride(Mountain Village). Based on the drive during winter you must get 4 wheel drive and studded tires if they have them. Rent Jeeps from DiffJeeps in Montrose or Telluride, great way to go. DO NOT GO IN 2 WHEEL VEHICLES, too much snow, too much ice for the drive. Mark was always quick to communicate and responsive, appreciate it!

Beautiful house and had all the amenities needed. It was big enough for our family of 12.
We really enjoyed the property. The kids had lots of fun sledding down the hills in the property. Plenty of snow. Chose to stay home one whole day so the kids could have a blast.

Perfect location for a small wedding!
This property is AMAZING! I can't recommend it enough. We wanted to have a small wedding and have a place for all of our friends and family to stay. The cabin fit more than enough people and it was incredibly cozy. Mark is a fantastic host and provided more than we could have asked for. He was so accommodating, attentive, and kind. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. The cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous and well taken care of. The kitchen is well stocked and all the appliances work well. Even with 30 people and the cabin being solar-powered, there were never any issues with the electricity or hot water. We couldn't have asked for a better host or a better location for the weekend!
