Nice place but unsafe location
The house is great and just as advertised. Clean and well appointed. It’s a rough neighborhood though, with needles left on the ground nearby and gunfire one night. Better to stay south of St. Claude to be in the Marigny.

Beautifully Renovated Historic Home!
This home is gorgeous, with the original hardwood floors, high ceilings, and shotgun floor plan. Why not live (at least temporarily, inside a historic home and in a historic neighborhood? You won't be missing out on any modern amenities with the large well stocked kitchen, updated bathroom, and comfy beds. There is a big L-shaped sofa, lots of cozy throws and a well-placed TV to enjoy your downtime. The fenced backyard is perfect for you canine companion! My dog loved being able to play ball in the expansive backyard, and with the back door off the end bedroom it was super convenient for me to let her out in the mornings. The location is a short Uber ride away from all the action in the French Quarter, the Central Business District, the Garden District, and really anywhere you want to go. You can easily walk to Frenchman Street. We found the neighbors to be friendly and street parking in front of the house wasn't an issue. One of the best perks about staying here is the wonderful hosts. If you get a chance to interact with them please do! They are full of information regarding NOLA's history (which I found fascinating) and they provided us with excellent personalized recommendations on where to visit and where to eat. They know their city very well. Loved Irenes!

Hi, I am Stephen and I love meeting new people. My wife and I are tour guides and work in the French Quarter. We love helping guests discover our favorite parts of the city.

Why they chose this property

We love how close our house is to the new hangout spot on St Claude. We love that we are within walking distance to some of the best hidden gems in New Orleans.

What makes this property unique

Our house was built in 1890 and has absolutely beautiful wood floors and high ceilings! We love that it has historic charm, but is exceptionally well-sealed and insulated and has amazing air conditioning. We have a surprisingly large yard for a house in the downtown area. We lucked out with our amazing backyard, and we think you will agree.
