About this property

NOLA'S CASITA - Charming, modern studio space

4 blocks from the Mississippi, 'NOLA'S CASITA' is in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, a 10 minute drive to the French Quarter, the heart of New Orleans. Holy Cross (our neighborhood) is the 'sliver by the river' that enjoys a green space - a levee that allows you to get up close to the Mississippi. Tug boats, cruise ships departing for the Caribbean and the odd local fisherman can be seen making waves here. Come stay and wave back!

New construction, open modern studio space.

HOW TO BOOK
Please send a short message with 2 things along with any reservation request:
1. Names of guests
2. You have read and agree to house rules.

THE SPACE
Generous studio at the rear of building that includes queen bed, kitchen table and chairs, sofa, coffee table, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, tea kettle (and supplies) shower and restroom. Two skylights with remote blinds, flood the space with light during the day and one over the bed makes for a cool star gaze. Ready to sleep?... a remote closes them for a dark slumber space.

The Casita is a private studio attached by a 20 foot deck that connects to the private space that is my home at the front of the property.

Ideal for solo travelers and comfortable for two people. It's really going to suit travelers who arrive in New Orleans by car and want hassle free parking. Less than a 10 minute drive to heart of New Orleans, the French Quarter.

ACCESS
Guests have private use of the casita and shared outside space of the covered deck

NOTE
We do have a dog named Harold. He won’t be around too much as he comes to work with us everyday. He’s very loving but If outside, he might bark a bit upon your arrival. Very friendly but just keeps us aware of passerby’s! He’s our friendly neighborhood watchdog.

Awesome stay!
We had a wonderful time at LOLA Casita. Very nice stay, and we had a great time hanging out with Harold (the dog). I would definitely recommend staying here!

Cute little place
Wonderful stay with basic amenities. We were here for three days. The only complaint I have is that the Wi-Fi does not work in the rental property, and there is no cell reception there either. So if you needed to get any work done while you are out of town, this is not the rental for you. The TV will not work because the Wi-Fi isn’t strong enough. Other than that, it was nice. The fridge is big enough for a short stay. There are only dishes for two people so you will have to wash them after every use or just use paper plates. The parking is also kind of weird because there is no signage or designation as to where you can park. Luckily the property owners will answer messages pretty quickly.

The Best Stay Anywhere Ever!!!
My wife and I travel quite a bit and stay at many different home vacation rentals. This place was by far the best ever. The place was immaculately clean. The communication was superb. It was absolutely perfect for our quick get away.

Great stay in NOLA
We planned a vacation to focus on bicycling on the levee between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. This location was only 2-3 blocks away from the levee and provided us with a great home base for our adventure. The place was immaculate and worked out great. The bed was comfy. The bathroom layout was thoughtful. We had everything we needed. We had a brief, pleasant interaction with one of the owners. The dog was the best dog ever - which to us, as non-dog people, meant his presence for safety, but he never licked, sniffed or bothered us in any way. Honestly on our arrival, as we drove thru the neighborhood of the VRBO, we had to pause and have a discussion about the location, safety of our bikes and whether we could actually park our 12-passenger van in the provided spot -- but we were able to fit the vehicle, appreciated the gated security and dog, found the neighborhood to be very quiet and we had no problems whatsoever. We biked from the house to the levee, on the dirt and rock levee to the bridge, down the hill on the other side into the neighborhood past great restaurants, then shortly thereafter got on the delightful paved section of the levee that took us through interesting sites and into the French Quarter. All in all this VRBO was perfect for us and we would definitely stay again!

Why they chose this property

We love our neighborhood! It's quiet and a little off the beaten path but a quick drive to a million fun things to do. It's a great place to retreat to after a long day of sightseeing. We are also just blocks from the levy where you can walk up onto it, see the boats go by and enjoy an amazing sunset.
