We built the 'White Pelican Cottage' for our family to be able to enjoy a safe, relaxing, and fun getaway from the stresses of city and work life. Whether it's just laying out on the sugar-white sandy beach, or swimming in the surf, or building sandcastles with the kids, taking long walks down the beach, or even trying to catch a fish to eat for supper, we know that your family will find that same relaxation and togetherness that our family enjoys so much.

Nestled on the pristine sugar-white shores of the Gulf of Mexico, our home offers an idyllic escape to what is truly Florida's last undeveloped coastline. With the exception of the ever-present pods of friendly porpoises swimming just off of the beach, you and your group will likely have the wide white sandy beach all to yourselves. Families with young children will especially enjoy the safety of the normally calm waters and the overall privacy of Carrabelle Beach. Most new first time visitors to Carrabelle Beach exclaim that they did not even realize that such a beautiful and undeveloped place still existed in Florida....We explain that is why they call this part of Florida, the "Forgotten Coast"!

As you enter the house, you'll be greeted by wide, breathtaking views of the beach and waters of the Gulf of Mexico. You will see that the house is certainly modern in its appointments, but it boasts a very relaxed and inviting coastal cottage design and feel. It has a warm and inviting interior, where up-scale coastal-inspired decor and furnishings, along with modern appliances and amenities, combine to create a setting straight from the pages of Coastal Living magazine.

On the main floor, the super spacious great room area is the heart of the home. The great room is over 40 feet long by about 30 feet wide and includes the kitchen and dining areas as well as a home theater area with a 75" TV, surround sound, and leather seating that is perfect for watching movies or sports. Many puzzles have been put together at the dining table in this room, and many board games have been played there too! Large expansive windows flood this space with natural light and offer panoramic vistas of the Gulf of Mexico and our two barrier islands, Dog Island and St. George Island. Sitting in the rocking chairs under the ceiling fans on the beautiful screened porch located just outside of the great room is the definition of "chilling"

When not on the beach, guests can stay entertained with 2 home theater setups, both with large flat-screen TVs and surround sound speakers. Adults can enjoy their favorite movies and sports on the main level in the great room area, while the kids move to the upstairs media room for TV watching and gaming, etc. In addition to the 2 home theater setups, all bedrooms are equipped with flat-screen smart TVs. All TVs have all of the popular streaming apps such as Netflix, YoutubeTV, ESPN, etc.

The super large kitchen is well-equipped and is a chef's delight (and, in fact, it can easily accommodate more than one chef!) It is complete with all modern appliances and ultra nice cooking utensils. There is ample counter space to prepare and serve huge meals for your hungry vacationing clan. There is also a Weber gas grill and a Weber Charcoal grill located in the outdoor cook space located on the parking level below the house.

You will find plenty of local seafood markets in nearby towns of Carrabelle, Eastpoint, and Apalachicola. The local grocery store (IGA) in Carrabelle carries all of the needed basics.

Whether you're enjoying a seafood feast at the large family sized dining table or savoring a quick bite at the natural stone kitchen island, every meal becomes a special occasion with the sandy beach and the waters of the Gulf of Mexico as your beautiful backdrop.

Our beach house comfortably accommodates 9 adult guests in four beautifully appointed guest rooms. Each bedroom is designed with your total comfort in mind. They feature plush and super comfortable bedding and serene coastal inspired transitional decor. The master suite on the main floor comes with its own private en-suite bathroom, adding a touch of luxury and privacy to your stay. A baby crib and two extra twin sized mattresses are available if needed.

You are certain to enjoy the spacious screened porch! Just breathe in the salty sea air while gazing out at the Gulf of Mexico and you will literally feel the stress leave your body. Out on the porch, you can enjoy your morning coffee, snacks or meals, or simply relax on the porch's rocking chairs or other outdoor furnishings. The soothing sound of the gentle waves rolling in against the shore will likely relax you to the point of an involuntary nap. While out on the porch, be sure to keep your eyes open for the ever-present porpoises playing in the surf.

For beach enthusiasts, the sugar white sand is just steps away from the house. Spend your days building sandcastles, sunbathing, fishing, or taking long walks along the beach. Carrabelle's unspoiled beaches are a haven for wildlife, so, again, keep an eye out for dolphins playing in the surf and shorebirds searching for their next meal. You may even see one of the resident Bald Eagles searching for a seafood meal!

As the day winds down, gather around the outdoor fire pit and let the magic of the dark night envelop you. Roast marshmallows, tell stories, and revel in the beauty of the starry skies above.
