This villa is an ideal getaway for guests yearning for a truly out of the ordinary retreat, just next to Lefkada's breathtaking beaches! Officially recognized as a preserved building, 'Meli' carries with it a history which dates back to the 19th century. It is a unique stone villa featuring 3 spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (designer matresses & toiletries, hairdryer), spacious sitting areas with Flat screen TV with subscriber program, hifi, dvd player, fireplace, dining area, fully equipped rustic kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, spices etc).

The attention to detail is evident in all the superbly-decorated interiors which combine rustic authenticity with all-modern amenities. A large courtyard with a traditional wood burning oven, create exquisite sitting and dining areas with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The secluded village is next to some of the most famous beaches in the Med (Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gialos, etc)

The experience at Meli combines:

1. Luxurious living with all amenities at hand to ensure your comfort and relaxation

2. Close proximity to the island's wonderful long, sandy beaches with clean, turquoise waters (quite handy, especially when it might take people from the north of the island more than an hour to approach)

4. Connection with rich nature's relaxing aura either by sitting at the villa's garden, or by enjoying walking or biking along the fields/olive groves/vineyards/mountain right across the villa etc. (4 mountain bikes provided for free)

5. Calmness and safety as the small village provides the necessary quietness to ensure you enjoy your sleep (away from crowds) and the safety needed for children to feel free to walk & play around (as there are not many cars around)

Beautiful house in welcoming small village.
Highly recommended house in beautiful location. House very well equipped. Only 15min drive to beautiful, recommended and not so busy Gialos beach. We enjoyed a most wonderful week with the entire family. Many thanks.

A wonderful, traditional and peacefull villa
We spent a week at mid-August in Meli traditional house in Dragano, Lefkada, and we had a wonderful time. Elena and her sister were really kind and wonderful hosts, giving us the idea of the feeling and love they have for their house. The villa is really a traditional one, with stone walls all around and nice wood roofs inside. The terrace has a spectacular view on the nature of this wild part of the island, and the table in the garden gives the opportunity for lovely breakfast and dinner times. The kitchen is large and very well equipped, the rooms upstairs are very large, each with its bathroom, and nicely furnished. Dragano is a really peaceful place and not-touristy village in the island, not far from very nice beaches but even a quiet coin of the island, that we recommend for those looking for relaxing holidays.

Perfect place for a holiday
We spend a lovely time at the villa. The place is with perfect location to go around the island and return to a relaxing place to rest! Gialos Beach, Porto Katsiki, Kathisma – have visited them all. To rent a boat and go surfing – it takes only abt 15 minutes to reach Vasiliki. The house is sparkling clean and has good selection of required amenities! The owner was there to assist us as we needed and has been a great guide for the island! Highly recommended! Thank you, Elena, for the great hospitality! Your directions and pre-advise of ideas of things to do in the area and Lefkada in general helped us spend a great time!

Best place for family re-unions!
We are two brothers living with our families at different countries and we chose to spend some time together at Meli, what a brilliant choice it proved to be! When we arrived we were amazed by this house’s unique decoration, the feel of Greece’s local tradition. We were a large group but there was so much space that we all managed to enjoy our own privacy when we were not family-bonding altogether. The villa is fully equipped and our younger kids appreciated all extra amenities the owners provided us to keep them busy. Elena, Argy and George made us feel at home and provided plenty of useful information even before we got there. Lefkada is a wonderful island and we very much enjoyed the beaches nearby Meli. We will definitely come back and for sure recommend this wonderful house to our friends!

Magnific place & island
Meli is exactly as you can see it on the website, a very nice house with beautiful architecture. Elena (the owner) ask us before arrival what can she do for us so the stay will be as expected. She prepared us toys for the children. She surprised us with an welcome pack that included fruits and coffee and things to eat as breakfast, although this was not specified. Also we found 4 MTB bikes and helmets. The terrace is very very beautiful. Meli house is close to the most beautiful beaches - Porto Katsiki and Egremni. If you are a wind surfer Vasiliki is not too far. Before arriving we receive an email with important details about how to reach Meli, nice places we can eat and beaches descriptions. It was very useful. We loved the holiday and for sure we'll return to Meli!

My wife and I are the US and purchased Meli House in 2021 after we fell in love with the island of Lefkada and the traditional village of Dragano. We are excited to share our special home and beautiful island with you.

Why they chose this property

Meli House, and the village of Dragano, transports you to another time - a time in which traditional village life still exists. We love to wander the village roads picking figs, walnuts, wildflowers, etc. and to stop by neighbors houses for coffee and to catch up on the village news. The incredible local taverna is a short walk past an ancient olive grove, and our neighbors still make their own wine, honey, and olive oil.

While Meli House offers a peaceful sanctuary, the world class beaches of Gialos, Egremni, and Porto Katsiki are all easily accessible. It is truly magical to take a quick drive down to Gialos beach for sunset then return home to cook dinner in the traditional stone oven then eat under the stars.

We cannot wait to share this incredible experience with you.
