About this property

Lakefront cabin with dock, hot tub, fire pit!!

Better to wake….. at the lake! Have your morning coffee or tea out on the private dock. Fish, kayak, swim and hike as soon as you walk out the door. Roast marshmallows at the fire-pit.

Our lakeside cabin is the perfect place for an active, yet relaxing Vermont getaway! There is a strong cozy-cabin vibe, but for added functionality and convenience we have recently renovated the kitchen, 3rd bedroom, bathroom and mudroom. It is private and secluded yet still close to a wide variety of activities and restaurants.

Numerous windows on both floors give breathtaking views of the lake. During the warmer months you have a private dock for fishing, swimming, kayaking and lounging. The cabin is directly on the lake just above the water level, so you can launch kayaks or swim from the back yard as well! As an added bonus, Camp Plymouth State Park is only one mile away and has a beach, playground and water activities.

Don't forget that we also have a hot tub and fire-pit, which provide a perfect ending to any day!

This is a very special place and we hope you can enjoy it as much as we do. It is a mix of modern luxuries and cabin vibes. There is something for everyone at Amherst One!

Family Get Away
Loved the property. Beautiful location on the lake. Used the canoe and kayaks every day. My 3 year old twin grand children loved the beach and playground at the state park which was one mile down the road. The house worked well for the six of us. Loved the fire pit area. Jesse was responsive and happily answered all of my questions. Highly recommended.

Peaceful retreat
Our stay at the home in Vermont was nothing short of amazing. The location right on the lake made it feel like a private retreat, and having access to a canoe and two kayaks was such a fantastic bonus. The short walk from the house to the lake was incredibly convenient, allowing us to easily enjoy the refreshing. The cleanliness of the house was impeccable, which made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. The oversized hot tub was the cherry on top, offering a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The serene and peaceful surroundings made it a truly idyllic getaway, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to relax and recharge. Every detail exceeded our expectations, making this a vacation we will cherish for a long time.

Will be back!
We absolutely loved this lake home. It had so much to offer, our only regret is we didn’t book a longer stay. Our kids loved fishing at all hours off the dock, using the hot tub and the kayaks/canoe. The state park is right down the street with a great beach and swim area, great spot for picnics. It was so nice and quiet and peaceful. The views from the house are spectacular. Not a bad room in the house and the climate control was top notch. Spotless home with everything you need and stuff you never thought of. Host was amazing and quick to respond. We will be back!

About the host

Host profile image
I'm originally from Montana but moved to New England for undergrad/grad school. Having grown up in the mountains, I naturally gravitated to Vermont. It is such a special place that I have fallen in love with! My family and I are happiest when we are surrounded by mountains, lakes, and friendly people. I love being a host because I get to help others experience this truly special place

Why they chose this property

It's directly on the lake, it's serene, and there are two options for skiing/riding within 15 minutes. It's the perfect location!

What makes this property unique

The upper level of the property is newly renovated, but still has the "cozy cabin" feel. Nestled directly up to Amherst Lake, we have beautiful views of the water and it is incredibly peaceful. Lounging on the private dock or around the fire pit will easily put you in vacation mode. There are very few houses on Amherst Lake to begin with, and it is very unique to be able to have direct access at lake-level without having to go down stairs (or cross a highway!). As there is a strict rule on Amherst lake about creating a wake near the shore, you will only find people out for a paddle (and the occasional pontoon), so it never gets too loud or busy.

In addition, just being on the lake, nestled in between the mountains is about the best you can get. There are so many activities near by that you could never be bored. You are absolutely going to fall in love with this property!
