Recently retired from sales, but moving full-time into her pottery career, Wilma loves Saugatuck and feels fortunate to be able to share her home with you. Folding out of her lovely backyard, the cottage is nestled in its own oasis and if you want privacy, it’s yours. If you want philosophies on life, stories from her European upbringing, and insight on the true gems of Saugatuck, Wilma is all smiles.

About 15 years ago, Wilma happened to be at the right place at the right time and the stars aligned for her to purchase the Bridge Street home and cottage. Upon her retirement, she has been able to devote more time to gardening and other creative endeavors – many of which you will enjoy during your stay. The garden is inviting and Wilma’s pottery is infused in the space (and as an extra bonus, you can purchase some of her work if you are interested).

Why they chose this property

“I felt at home. The general atmosphere of the town, the beach, and the arts spoke to me. How wonderful to be able to enjoy a fantastic meal at a restaurant, enjoy a play, and then walk the shores at sunset. Saugatuck is beautiful, unique, friendly, and there are different programs and events offered throughout the year that whenever you visit, something special awaits you.”

What makes this property unique

Past guests have described the cottage as romantic, enchanting, and cozy. You come to a potentially busy town and you can escape in your own cottage. There are only 3 houses on the street. You are alone if you want to be. Downtown is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The garden is lovely and past guests comment that it feels like you are transported back in time.

Personally, I love riding my bike into town, hanging out at the coffee shop while reading the paper and people-watching. Then I enjoy gardening back at my house, talking with friends, and taking walks at sunset on the beach. It is my ideal retirement town.
