Beautifully Renovated Country Estate from 1700s on 15 Magical Acres.
ARENDALE FARM is an absolutely beautiful property situated on 15 lush acres in the gorgeous countryside of Alskog. A wonderful place to just relax, take long walks, hike or bike ride. But also TONS to do and see in the area for all ages. Consult local papers for current events for all ages. Just a few minutes away is Ljugarn, with the oldest beach on Gotland dating back to Viking times. Ljugarn also has several great restaurants, a market and some other stores. One of our favorite restaurants is ON the beach and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also tennis courts and soccer fields for the sports fan. Please note that some restaurants and activities are seasonal, so please inquire what is available at the time of your stay. There are also many other wonderful areas to visit with unique nature, areas that look like completely different countries. Everything from the Savanna, to white sandy beaches, cliffs and oceans, beautiful countryside and and many historical sites including a UNESCO World Heritage site. Minimum 6 night stay.

The family lives on another island - in Sanibel, Florida. We feel like we truly get the best of both worlds.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this house after having seen it online. Not having any plans to buy property in Sweden, we couldn't stop thinking about it, and buying the place sight unseen. Seeing it live for the first time was amazing, it was more than we had ever hoped for. With it's gorgeous tranquil views, sprawling property and true to Gotland lime stone house with 3 foot stone walls, it is very a happy and beautiful house lots of history. In the kitchen you will see a picture of a family that lived there at the turn of the century. Unfortunately though, there were no cameras in the 1700's.
