Excellent
I found this hotel while we were traveling from Scarborough- the reviews were all good and something pulled me towards it. We were pleasantly surprised when we found it, surrounded by hills and sales and in a lovely village that alas we didn’t have time to explore. The hotel/pub was very pleasant and we were shown to our room which was perfect. Lovely en-suite bathroom and king-sized bed. Lots of room and to top it off each of the rooms were named after a flower. We were in the Rose room! We didn’t have a full dinner but decided on sticky toffee pudding which was one of the best that I’ve ever had. My husband had a huge plate of cheese and biscuits. In the morning we were presented with an enormous breakfast of very high quality and a little too much for me but great for my husband! The bed was very comfy and the road outside, while a little noisy with the odd heavy truck, was very quiet after 10pm. I can’t really fault this hotel at all. The cleanliness was amazing - I always check if I use a glass in the bedroom to look for spots etc, I found zero spots or watermarks - very unusual! So clean! Well done to the people who work here - too bad it’s not privately owned though!
