About this property

Cabin in the Meadow - Romantic 20-Acre Retreat, Hot Tub, A/C - Near Asheville

Property Location: The cabin is out in the country between historic Hendersonville and the Bat Cave/Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area, SouthEast of Asheville amidst the many hiking areas of Hickory Nut Gorge. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available both in our pond and at Clear Creek – state trout waters that adjoin our property.

Weather in Summer: Our summer weather pattern has kicked in! Warm days (70's and 80's), then just when it gets a little too warm and humid, wham! Thunder, lightning, downpour! Usually just minutes long. Temperature drops several degrees, perfect for an evening hot tub soak. Night temperatures in the 60's. Come enjoy the mountains in summertime.

Cabin Location: The Cabin in the Meadow at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. It is the easiest to get to, just a few dozen feet from the public country road, and within walking distance to our pond. You will see evergreen trees surrounding the yard and, especially in winter, and the wooded hills beyond. Depending on recent rainfall, you may hear Clear Creek, which is accessible further down across the public road.

Cabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has a gas BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond.

Area Activities: While many guests simply relax on the property for their entire stay, there is much to do in the area – hiking Chimney Rock Park, a boat tour of Lake Lure, a visit to Historic Hendersonville, dining at the many great area restaurants just a short drive away, visiting the many surrounding state and national parks and forests (Dupont, Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway), and of course visiting the famous Biltmore Estate. Horseback riding is available in the area, as are visits to numerous wineries, and breweries, plus a cidery and meadery, many of which have live music and food trucks. Hiking locations are abundant. Spring and fall driving tours of our apple growing country side are available with many fruit stands to select from.

Seasons: The property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.

Peaceful and relaxing
This was a quick decompressing trip for me and my husband. The booking and check in process was exceptionally smooth. This was a last minute booking. The cabin was extremely clean and very well stocked. The owners were in contact via text message and provided a wealth of information on the cabin and area. The private hit tub was icing on the cake. I got much need rest, because it was so relaxing and peaceful.

Amazing Cabin Experience
Our experience at the cabin was amazing. Kaye truly went above and beyond. The property is gorgeous and the cabin was very clean and comfortable inside. Kaye makes sure to have detailed instructions on everything needed to maintain the cabinbduring your stay, including how to work the hottub. She also had details sbout things to do in the area. My experience was the best that ive had in a long time. I highly recommend this property and felt like i was treated with great care.

Locally owned and owner operated. We meet you at your cabin at check in and tell you about our favorite restaurants, area activities and attractions as well as how to operate the hot tub and gas log fireplace.

Why they chose this property

We are out in the country centrally located to many things to do in this area (Chimney Rock Park, Lake Lure, Historic Hendersonville (many good restaurants), lots of hiking) and in Asheville (Biltmore Estate, etc). And frequently our guests decide to just stay on the property and do nothing at all! Right here on the property there is a little hike back into the woods, fishing in the pond or creek, a fire pit at the pond, and a grill at each cabin.

What makes this property unique

20 partially wooded acres out in the country yet close to many area activities and attractions. The property has a hiking trail back up into the woods, a pond to fish in with a picnic shed and firepit next to it, and fishing in Clear Creek which adjoins our property and is state trout waters. In addition to the firepit at the pod, there is a campfire down next to Clear Creek.
