About this property

Beautiful Northwest Lodging - Mountainside Chalet "Tiny House" - Honeymoon for 2

As the description implies, Mountainside Chalet (MSC) is a "Tiny House" Hideaway (Definition of a tiny house is subjective, but it's a home of about 400 square feet or less, either on wheels or a foundation). MSC is on a foundation and nestled amongst the trees in Packwood, WA. Historic Packwood is situated in between Mt. Rainier, Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Adams, surrounded by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and at the very center of Washington's White Pass Scenic Byway (Hwy 12), 'Playground of Volcano Country.' It is 10 miles from the southeast entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park and 19 miles from the White Pass Ski Area.
Mountainside Chalet's coziness will charm you. Drift into dreamland on a comfy mattress, with plump pillows and snugly, warm blankets.
Immediately outside is a deck w/private hot tub & outdoor table & chairs, for enjoying fresh alpine air. Behind the house is a wonderfully wooded area and Hall Creek tempting a visit, along with the neighborhood elk.

Perfect weekend getaway
Quaint little cabin in downtown Packwood. Perfect for romantic getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub on the porch. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Very easy access off highway 12 and close to downtown. Would stay again.

Good location for visiting Mt Rainier
Nice location for visiting both Sunrise and Paradise at Mount Rainier. Nothing fancy but had all the basic amenities. Loved having a soak in the hot tub after hiking all day.

Why they chose this property

We love the mountains, and Packwood is very like Switzerland, only the mountains are smaller and farther apart. It is in the center of Gifford Pinchot Nat'l Forest, 7 miles from the southern entrance to Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park, and surround by Tatoosh, William O Douglas, and Goat Rocks Wilderness areas, offering year round recreational activities. There is a constant flow of wildlife including: elk, coyotes, raccoon, fox, black bear, bald eagles, beaver and more, and .

What makes this property unique

I love the outdoors and it doesn't get more outdoors than this: set in tall timbers, Hall Creek singing water mysteries at the falls behind the house, private hot tub, star studded sky, passing elk, peeks of Mt. Rainier. . . what a combination! Private, cozy, comfortable and AFFORDABLE all at the same time. It's a great place for dreaming! We have 4 houses on adjacent properties, and there have been a couple occasions when all the houses were full, forcing us to rent local hotel rooms. It was more expensive in the hotel with far less amenities and privacy, so why would you want to stay anywhere else?
