About this property

Highlands home close to town on Rhododendron Trail

At 4000+ feet, we're about 20 min walk to Highlands on the Rhododendron Trail. Our light and sunny 2 bed/2.5 bath home is located in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful forest behind it. Floor to ceiling shiplap, hardwood floors, custom fixtures, gas fireplace, outdoor porch overlooking the woods, Wifi, TV, washer/dryer, loaded kitchen. Classic Highlands charm with all the modern comforts. Hike, fish, bike, shop or relax!

A perfect hideaway for a honeymoon couple, couples getting away for the weekend, a family with young children, solo adventurers seeking a solemn retreat or business travelers.

Downstairs is an open floor plan with the kitchen, living room and dining room. The spacious living room has high ceilings, a large comfortable sofa, TV & gas fireplace. The dining room seats six people with large windows to enjoy the view. The kitchen has granite counter tops, farm sink with disposal, large fridge, microwave, oven, coffee maker, icemaker, dishes, pot & pans, utensils, etc. A full size modern washer & dryer are off the kitchen, as well as, a half bath.

The master bedroom is downstairs and has a queen size bed, large bathroom with walk-in shower and bench and large custom vanity. There is access to the back porch to enjoy a cup of coffee before everyone else gets up.

Bedroom # 2 is upstairs with a queen bed and the bathroom is next to the bedroom with a custom vanity and ceramic shower/tub combination. There is also a den upstairs with TV, game area and upstairs small deck to enjoy the sunrise.

The outdoor back porch has outdoor lighting, fan, small gas fire pit, grill and dining table for four. A perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset.

We are located about one mile from downtown Highlands and you can walk to town from our house (about 20 minute walk). The Rhododendron Trail is right next to our house for a great hike around the neighborhood.

Whether you want to relax by the fireplace, hike to local waterfalls and trails or enjoy Highlands’ upscale restaurants and shopping district, our house is a little piece of heaven!

Other things to note: We stock the house with sheets, bath and kitchen towels. The drive way is slightly steep. Parking is also available at the bottom of the hill for one car. We have a “no pets” policy to accommodate our guests who may have allergies.

A lovely home away from home!
We loved our stay at this fabulous mountain home! Lots of windows with plenty of natural light. No mountain views since the trees were fully leafed out, but the canopy was so pretty and we felt like we were in a tree house. Beautifully decorated, very clean, and a great kitchen. Debbie is a wonderful host, and check-in and out were a breeze. Great location and very close to Main Street. We struggled a bit in our Mercedes sedan (no 4WD) on the gravel roads and driveway, and the concrete slab "ramps" were a big help in getting up and down the driveway. Luckily, we had good weather during our stay; however, we're not sure we could've managed our comings and goings as well in inclement weather. Overall, a great property!

Nearly perfect
Beautiful and beautifully-appointed house. Great location, tucked away but close to town and nearby hiking. Very well equipped. Would have given a 5 but we were required to take our garbage with us. But overall, a great house!!

Amazing house in the woods!
We truly enjoyed staying at this property with my 2-year-old son and my friends! Beautiful occasion in the woods, with lots of little trails close by that allow you to easily get into town. The driveway was a bit hard for our Toyota Highlander front wheel drive, but still worth the stay! And it has a nice open living room dining room area-That was perfect for my 2-year-old to run around, and a large table so we could play board games at night! We would definitely book again in the future!
