About Us ~ about 300m from the pristine Pacific beach of Potrero - in Potrero Surfside community - is a small, peaceful, cluster of jungle joys!
Surrounded by palm trees and shrubs, flowers and mango, limon-mandarina and bamboo.
Location ~ Potrero Surfside is one of several small coastal communities and gorgeous beaches like Langosta, Grande, Conchal and Flamingo. Potrero Surside is interconnected with small, quiet, unpaved roads and a single paved coast road that connects the beaches and a bumpy rocky ‘monkey trail’ which acts as a shortcut to playas Hermosa & Panama and on to the main road to Liberia airport. Via the monkey trail the journey to the airport is just over an hour. Taking the longer, smoother paved roads you can add another 20-30 minutes depending on local conditions, such as cows on the road or tractors and harvested sugar-cane transportation.

There is a beautiful open concept kitchen/BBQ area on the property. If you need laundry done, ask our maids, they will kindly do it for you for a small tip. Outside shower for beach sand rinse off's. Parking and 24 hour security.

Our Rooms ~ 3 octagonal wooden cabinas with queen-sized beds - 2 with stone and 1 with wooden floors, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, tv, shower/ bathroom, and 4 more modern rooms upstairs, tiled floors, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, tv, shower bathroom
A complimentary first day Breakfast is included ~ typical Costa Rican fruits, toast and coffee refreshments to start your day off light.
Welcome to the Jungle!

Retreat and relaxation
Our extended family of 12, ages ranging from 17-82, experienced a fabulous few days in Guanacaste using this hidden gem as our home base. We were able to connect easily with the property owner as well as the property hostess before arriving if we had any questions. Each cabin and room had its own unique feel, with newly updated bathrooms, flat screen TVs, AC and free secure internet access. The blue and turquoise tiled pool with its soothing rock waterfall was perfect for the 5-7 young adults In our family who were ready to cool off after a day at the beach. The property is a short walk to Playa Potrero, and less than a 10 minute drive to Playa Flamingo. At the suggestion of the gracious and knowledgeable hostess, Paola, we spent a day at Playa Penca, and an evening in Playa Tamarindo as well. When we arrived we were greeted with typical Costa Rican friendliness in the form of a tall glass of watermelon mint drink and cool, refreshing hand towels. A Tico style breakfast was expertly prepared by Jogeilin and Janeth, and served buffet style each morning. It included fresh fruits, Gallo pinto, eggs, toast with a variety of tropical fruit jams, orange juice and coffee. If you are looking for relaxing get-away with easy access to a variety of options for daily entertainment, this is the place! Definitely ”pura vida”!

2/10 Terrible

Still under construction
In another 6-12 months, this place is going to be fabulous. However, when we arrived, the general grounds and even our cabina was quite unfinished. Stay here only if you can manage the dust, dirt, a plethora of moths and insects, (temporary) stained lamp shades and window coverings, and lack of ventilation despite a large floor fan. There was no door or even a drape on the bathroom and the light in the bathroom was a lamp with bare bulb sitting on a make-shift shelf. We declined all offers for a cup of coffee and fruit because the kitchen was filthy. The manager was disorganized; It took awhile for him to find the scrap of paper on which he had written the password for the wifi, and he also could not find the proper key to our hut until the next morning. He was, however, friendly and tried to be helpful. On the other hand, the water pressure in the shower was great - be aware of uneven stones in the floor of the shower. The owner is off-site and it is doubtful that she was aware of the conditions. However, she communicated well and even helped our shuttle find an acceptable drop-off site close to the cabinas. Perhaps another person could tolerate these conditions, seeing the potential down the road, but we found the place not quite habitable and left after the first night. The location was great - a short walk to a good beach.

Bull Crap
This lady is an outright thief, there is no pool. There’s a hole in the ground. There is no air conditioning, and yes, you see the ocean after a two minute walk but it takes another 15 minute walk if you want to get to the swimming area with everyone else. Breakfast every morning was a shock to the property manager! (Who is fantastic by the way). So out of his pocket he went to the store and egg’s every morning with a smile. The place was such a dump when we got there the first 30 minutes I was furious that someone could blatantly lie like that. Next day we went to leave, (12 hours to get to Costa Rica and it was midnight). But George was so apologetic that we ended up staying. Don’t believe a single word from this lady. 9 beach’s within walking, BullCrap!! And the one star was for George.

Pretty place; the craftmanship is outstanding.
I loved this place; very cute and cozy and natural; just the way a Costa Rican vacation should be. Organic! Very friendly neighbourhood and the beaches are very close. This place is a 2 to 3 minute walk to the beach. All the stores and gifts shops are in walking distance. Lots to do here!

The  small town and grounded lifestyle that I grew up in,  outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada,  enhanced my Taurus nature to search and continue for the peace of mind that was reared and instilled in me.   As a young woman, I began listening to adult mentors, who told me I was gifted with exuberant amounts of touch & love, I had for others.
In 1989 - 1990 I temporarily moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada  and opening the doors to explore my talents.   There I studied Aromatherapy and obtained my certificate , then moved back to Toronto  to practice.  The holistic nature of Aromatherapy lead me to explore other healing practicing techniques, such as Ear Candling,  reflexology,  natural skin care regimes , meditation and yoga.  As I moved and sorted through the over abundance of metaphysical practitioners and information on spiritual healing and the over congested behaviour of the city life, I was finding myself researching  further, as to where my heart fit and soul belonged.
My relocation to Costa Rica in the year 2000 was the height of my career where I found my calling, for my life's work.  There I was introduced to a shamic lifestyle, from a British couple who had re-rooted their lives and ran a B & B..
From that point on, I was intrigued and searched further, so I could continue to learn and practice this Zenful art of life. I ran my own organic cafe in a touristy part of Costa Rica and was rated  # 3 for the healthiest places to eat in Costa Rica.  I am associated with only a few like-minded people in Costa Rica.   With my life's path leading me to continue with workshops in various parts of our home (our world) and networking with a selective group of affiliated programs and people, my skills and techniques have surmounted to higher levels.

Why they chose this property

Very sacred, spiritual with a lot of character
