About this property

Kinross Cottage - an idyllic self-contained farm stay in Bungarby, NSW.

With breathtaking views of the Snowy Mountains and 365 peaceful acres to explore, it's the perfect weekend retreat or snow getaway (we are 75 minutes from the ski fields).

Our modern 'cottage' is equipped with everything you would need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Meals from Kinross Kitchen can be delivered on request and for a small charge.

Our open floor plan with double glazed windows and large sliding door opening onto the very generous size veranda, take advantage of the incredible 365 degree views. With a plush queen size bed along with a queen sofa bed, our cottage sleeps 4 people. We also have a bassinet and portacot available on request free of charge. Our large fully equipped kitchen including 800cm freestanding cooker, dishwasher and multiple kitchen appliances, can see you become your very own MasterChef.

Relax inside in front of the slow combustion fire or outside beside the fire pit. Please note there is no wifi (and minimal reception) so your stay at Kinross Cottage requires you to switch-off and reconnect with love ones present.

We are very flexible when it comes to check-in and check-out times so please let us know what your plans are during your stay and we will do our utmost to accommodate. Kinross Cottage has an enclosed yard so pending a discussion with your host prior to your stay, we may also be able to accommodate your four legged family members.

Kinross Cottage is 300 meters from the main homestead so whilst your hosts will be on site during your stay, (and will be available at any time day or night if you have any questions or concerns) you will have complete privacy.

Kinross Cottage is located in Bungarby (aka God's Country!). Kinross, Bungarby is 23km from Dalgety, 53km from Cooma and 58km from Jindabyne. For those wanting to experience the snow, we are a 75-minute drive to Perisher.

Our property is 365 acres so there are walking/mountain bike tracks a plenty and we even have the Snowy River running through our property which is perfect for those summer dips.

We are a small hobby farm and have approximately 50 ewe's (who lamb late August/early September each year), lots of friendly poddy lambs we bottle fed from birth that love to be patted and hand fed, six chickens who lay free range eggs daily, two horses, (Minni, our Shetland pony and Specs, our big gorgeous boy), three Kelpies and four dachshunds (rest assured, the dogs are kept in their enclosed yard).

A peaceful break
A fantastic property and a great escape. Hosts were both very welcoming and accomodating. Kitchen had everything and more to be able to cook with. Very handy, given you are 50km+ away from supermarkets! Very pet friendly! Perfectly fenced large yard, certainly exhausted our dog and gave us peace of mind knowing he could explore without getting out. Highly recommend!

Tranquillity at Kinross Cottage
What a wonderful, isolated location to view rolling hills, sunrise and stars and soak up the peace and quiet along with a stroll down to the Snowy River accessed directly on the property. The cottage is spacious, has a well-equipped kitchen and is even stocked with a good range of basic essentials. And the fenced yard is perfect for pets. Superb.

The property is amazing. The host go above and being to make you feel totally welcome.
The condiments, cereal, fresh farm eggs, orange juice, etc and having the fire ready to go was sensational. As soon as you walk in to Kinross Cottage, you feel at home and instantly relaxed. The host thought of everything to make our stay hassle free. The cottage was spotless, the bed comfort and bedding amazing. The view, animals, the snowy River and Mt Kosciuszko not far away were just beautiful. Although the main homestead (gorgeous by the way)was only 300 metres from the cottage, the hosts never invaided our privacy. The fact we could take our beautiful fur human, was an added bonus. Best Stayz accommodation yet, we will stay again.

Peaceful idyllic break
My stay at Kinross Cottage was all that I wanted for me and my 2 dogs. It was peaceful, quiet, an opportunity to just sit and watch the weather unfold (each day was a little different). My dogs loved the front paddock to run in and to smell and explore. We got in some tracking and some scent work and just roaming the paddocks (and maybe barking at the alpacas, sheep and cows just a bit). Can highly recommend a visit

It was exactly as the pictures on the Stayz. In fact, it was more impressive seeing it oneself. Excellent place for a getaway from all. We loved the tranquility and solitude. Dogs loved the large fully fenced yard. And we all loved the walk to the river and back. I'll be back. :-)

Kinross Cottage has such a relaxed feel due to the fit out and insulation in the cottage. The view is spectacular and ever changing with the weather and livestock coming and going.

A superb getaway in the Snowy Monaro region
We had an absolutely wonderful 3 days, and Cheryl and Warren made our stay memorable. Enjoyable walk down to the Snowy River, and interacting with the farm animals was a delight! Kinross Cottage is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We would love to return.

Relax in luxury in the snowy mountains
You wont regret staying at kinross cottage, cheryl and Warren run a pristine property catering for those who love the forever changing snowy mountain landscape and peek into farm living. Only we get to do it in luxurious comfort. No detail has been missed, so much and so little to do, you decide. Cheryl and Warren are the loveliest hosts welcoming you with a lovely bottle of wine, fresh eggs, bread and butter, hot chocolate and marshmallows, and a snack pack for their horse blackey. My favourite was sitting in a big armchair with fashionable faux throw in front of the fire gazing at the amazing view and the fluffy robes for guests to wear. Our dog jazz loved it too and thought it was her new forever home 😊 We loved our 6 star stay (better than 5 stars) and will definitely return. Maggie, Craig and jazz.

Breathtaking
The property was absolutely beautiful. Stunning views and the fireplace was incredible. I’d highly recommend it to anybody wanting to have a quiet getaway. Only thing I’d recommend is having at least a small SUV as the final road to the property was all dirt and a small car might struggle. I would definitely love to go back again.

Had an amazing two nights stay at Kinross Cottage. We had lofty expectations for this place and they were blown away in every aspect! Fantastic views, amazing facilities and Cheryl and Warren were the best hosts. Hopefully we can come back soon before too many people find out about this perfect hidden gem!

Stunning cottage, stunning location
A thoroughly beautiful cottage that is well designed with exquisite attention to detail. The location and view is superb - so tranquil. Sometimes the pictures online and the reality don't always line up, but Kinross Cottage is every bit as beautiful as the pictures would suggest. Just the drive out there is relaxing, but wait until you step inside!
