2021 vacation
Great location and very homey property. The only item that needs to be addressed is the queen bed needs to be updated, it was too soft and squishy and should be updated, otherwise the house was very comfortable. We would like to rent this same house again next year!

A place to sleep
It wasn't horrible as far as a place to sleep. The kitchen was dirty, at night it was overrun with ants no matter what we did. Everything had to be washed before it could be used due to the ants. The bathrooms were okay but the sinks could have been cleaned better, reside from toothpaste spit was left. The rest of the house was okay after wiping everything down. Was not worth the money. However, the front porch view was amazing and the beach access was great.

Beautiful view, needs a restroom to be replaced
The house is a charming, well-decorated classic 1950's beach house with some nice original details. The location at Topsail Beach, the oceanfront view and covered porch were perfect. It had new appliances and well-stocked kitchen. However, one of the bathrooms had a pervasive urine odor that was impossible to overcome. We scrubbed the floor, walls, and toilet with pine sol and it did not help, so we bought an overpowering plug-in to help with the smell and it still did not cover it. Also, the internet did not work and after a few days of going back and forth with the rental agency, we ended up having to contact the internet provider, schedule a visit, and dedicate an afternoon of our vacation coordinating getting the modem replaced. Would have preferred not to be responsible for that. There were other minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance which we could accept, but would have preferred not to have to deal with for what we paid for the place. Until that restroom is gutted or the source of the smell removed, we would not stay there again.
