About this property

Pear Tree Cottage, Holme-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

Pear Tree Cottage is a beautifully presented period cottage set right in the heart of the quiet coastal village of Holme-next-the-Sea and is in easy walking distance to the sandy beach and Old Hunstanton Golf Club.

This delightful three-storey brick and flint character cottage is perfect for a break any time of year. In the warmer months children and dogs can enjoy the large south-facing garden and there is also a small sunny terrace to the rear of the cottage where you can enjoy drinks and meals. When the nights draw in, snuggle down and warm your toes in front of the wood burning stove in the cosy sitting room.

With two bedrooms (a double on the first floor and en-suite twin on the second floor), and well-equipped kitchen, this charming cottage is perfect for a couple, small group of friends or family wanting to be in a good spot close to the village pub, that incidentally serves good home-cooked food and ales.

With the beach and plenty of paths, tracks and quiet country lanes on your doorstep, Pear Tree is a great base for exploring the area. A longer walk or few minutes in the car takes you to the village of Thornham with its gastro pubs, popular delicatessen and cafe, and Drove Orchards with its farm shop, Eric's award-winning fish and chip restaurant, Gurney's fish stall and independent boutiques. Nearby Hunstanton also offers a wealth of other attractions and facilities.

Pear Tree Cottage is also available as a sleeps two option with one bedroom closed off on the second floor.

Additional Information:
One well-behaved dog is welcome (small additional charge). Two small dogs may be considered - please enquire.
Bedding on the double bed is feather and on the single beds is synthetic.
Norfolk Winder stairs are, as with older character cottages, enclosed, steep, curved and narrow. Here they are carpeted with a hand rail on one side only.
Please note that Pear Tree Cottage does not have any car charging facilities.

A great spot to stay
Lovely stay at Pear Tree cottage. Quiet and peaceful and so close to some great walks on the door step.

The cottage fully met our needs
stay We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was very nice to spend time with our friends in the immediate vicinity, being old neighbours

Cottage clean & tidy but cutlery, china and utensils etc were not.
Had to wash plates, glasses, cutlery and all utensils before use. Possibly an issue with the dish washer just not cleaning properly - we washed everything by hand. In the drawer next to the oven there is a a cheese grater that is growing penicillin - could not bring myself to clean this so left it to continue rotting. The broom was not very practical - a decent broom or a hoover and I could have have floor cleaner! Location lovely. Cottage cosy. Not sure its big enough for 4 to eat in the kitchen though. Outside space great but too cold this time of year to make the most of it.

Good for a short stay
Pear tree is very well decorated and has everything you need. Our only gripe was that we could smell dogs and as non dog owners, it was unpleasant.

Great location for beach access and dog walks
We booked our cottage to be able to go on lots of walks with our relatively new dog. This was our first holiday with him and the location was perfect, with walks along the beach to a cafe at HUNSTANTON and a longer walk to Thornton. The cottage had everything you needed. The outside space though was not private although there was a garden, which is not directly attached to the cottage, the patio area immediately outside was open to everyone walking past. Finally I would advise that the pathway into the property should be kept clear, the plants were overhanging and lots of items to step over to gain access.
