A few minutes drive brings you to Trácht beach with its golden sands and the 'flaggy shores' of New Quay. 25 minutes to the bustling city of Galway.

The living area looks right out at tall broad-leafed trees which line the laneway. You can hear the birdsong, while relaxing in front of the open fire. From the windows here and the bedroom above you can gaze at the Burren Mountains. All the rooms are furnished to high specification, and the beds all have superior standard mattresses (two of them are king-size), and linen is of high quality. All 5 bedrooms contain wardrobes, bedside lockers and lamps as a minimum. Rooms are decorated with orignal artworks and tapestries. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped. Bathrooms have instant electric showers. We also provide an array of books (including children's), DVDs, jigsaws, playing cards, welcome folder and maps. Travel-cot and highchair available. Also equipment for elderly and disabled.

There is a private garden at the rear and side, and a patio area with garden furniture and pergola. Public tennis courts, kiddies play area and football pitch across the road at the top of the lane.

NEARBY AMENITIES:
Kinvara is considered the 'gateway' to North Clare, which is renowned for its limestone landscape of the BURREN (an area of world-wide interest to botanists, historians, archaeologists, ecologists, geologists, writers and artists). 10 minutes drive will bring you to the Burren National Park.
Nearby also you can visit: 2 championship golf courses, The Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Caves, Burren Perfumery and Floral Centre, Thoor Ballylee (home of W.B. Yeats, one of our great poets), Coole Park (home of Lady Gregory and the inspiration for many of Yeats' poems), Kiltartan Museum, Kilmacduagh Monastic Settlement and round tower, the Martello Tower at Auginish and even a trip to the Aran Islands!
Galway city is also definitely worth a trip – don't miss the famous Galway Races, Arts Festival and Oyster Festival. Travel on to Connemara with its boglands, stone walls, lakes and native Irish-speaking people of the Gaeltacht.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Kinvara is a quaint seaside village renowned for its medieval castle, 'Dunguaire', which provides nightly banquets. Each August Kinvara hosts Cruinniu na mBad, a traditional sailing festival featuring turf boats, and also a traditional music festival (Fleadh na gCuach) each May Bank Holiday weekend and a hurling festival. On the October bank holiday weekend, Gort hosts the Joe Cooley Traditional Music festival.

Kinvara is a good location
Kinvara is a good location for exploring Galway and County Clare. The property is fine with plenty of space and well equipped. We even managed to use the Hot Tub which was very rewarding as the weather forecast for the week was not very very good.

Great location
PROS: A great location allowing for easy walks into town. It is large enough to accommodate a big group (we were one couple with four teenage boys age 14-19 ) and there was plenty of space to spread out and have privacy to decompress when we weren’t out and about. Nice size driveway for off street parking. Kitchen is functional. Washer and dryer work. Master bathroom downstairs had excellent water pressure/hot water. There are some nice touches in terms of decor (rug/hanging tapestry in stairwell, table runner) Property management was very responsive and helpful throughout. (We mistakenly brought home one of the house keys and they were very kind and understanding. Also local relatives requested early access to leave us groceries etc and she orchestrated that.) Allowed us to checkin early. CONS: House needs a thorough deep clean. Outdoor space could use some love. Upstairs shower had low pressure. The online description states that there are superior quality mattresses and linens; the master mattress downstairs is not great. Bedding and towels are fine/adequate, but not superior. Overall- price feels high for what you get; house could be better outfitted and cleaned for how much we paid. But management made it a pleasure and the location was prime.

Lovely stay
Great self catering accommodation with all the necessities provided and great location for all the popular Sites in Clare and Galway. Some items in the property could do with updating e.g. throws and rugs but this certainly wouldn’t put anyone off from staying here.

I lectured in Computer Science for a number of years, and when my 4 daughters were reared I turned my attention to hosting guests in this traditional Kinvara cottage. I enjoy gardening and designing knitwear. I am always at hand to offer advice, and help in any way I can with my guests.

Why they chose this property

I love this area of Galway/Clare border & I do have special memories here. Kinvara is a unique little village, very special to me. It is a wonderful base on the Wild Atlantic Way. Every day I enjoy the beauty of nature all around. As I write this I am listening to birdsong, and glancing over at the Burren hills. Horses pop their heads over the stone wall opposite.

What makes this property unique

Actually, I built this property, having fallen in love with the location. It is close to the world-famous Burren hills. This is a unique landscape with stunning wildlife and fauna. My property stands out as it is one of the few holiday cottages that are actually IN the village, so you can walk to everything. It also has 5 bedrooms!
