Spacious apartment away from the throngth of tourists
Great location but quiet so could relax. Very clean and everything supplied. Being from Canada we would have preferred a larger coffee maker that made 2 cups! We did learn to be patient. A great neighbourhood and the owners supplied a qr code to show shops close by. Loved the old world style building and lovely entrance doors. Our error as more stairs than we thought. We forgot that 2nd floor is really 3rd for us.. It was worth it. I agree the ledges are wide so challenging to see the canal below . I used a chair to perch on the sill. Overall a perfect stay in wonderful Venezia! Til next time!

Amazing Location and Room!!
This was a wonderful location. We had an amazing time in Venice. I did forget my hang-up clothes in the large armoire so make sure to check before you leave. Also be careful of the dryer as all our clothes did shrink so you may want to air dry them. Overall I would highly recommend this VRBO. Everything you could want in a location.

Lots to like, a few complaints
This is a nice and spacious room with pros and cons. Pros: Free bottle of sparkling water in fridge on arrival Large living space including good size bathroom. The key manager was nice and helpful, walked us to the building from water bus, gave us helpful info on transport/dining/shopping. Convenient but away from busiest part of the city Clean Interesting art Close to Osperdale waterbus stop Dishwasher and washer/dryer Well-appointed, large kitchen They were flexible with us when we had to leave in a hurry (due to misreading the water bus schedule) and didn't get everything cleaned up completely in the kitchen. Cons Our main complaint is the $40 euro fee, cash only, that they charged to let us in after 8 PM. They did inform us in advance, but it was a hefty fine for getting lost on our way there and not understanding how the transportation system worked. I can understand it to some extent because there is a key manager who physically comes to let you in to the room, and so it inconveniences her if you get there late. It would be nice if they had a digital key system so people could easily enter the property whenever their flights/trains/cars arrived. Room doesn't have coffee or soap for the shower (however there was tea and creamer/sugar packets that previous guests had left) The canal view shown in the picture is not the actual view from the room, and there is no balcony or way to easily see the canal unless you lean way out the window. Motor boats on the canal made it noisy. When I sent a message to the owner asking whether there was coffee she didn't respond, though she did respond to other messages. Three flights of stairs made it hard to bring up our luggage. Small shower Washing machine/dryer didn't have a low heat setting and our clothes ended up very wrinkly. Furniture not designed for comfort. The owner was not particularly customer service oriented (see the response to another negative review for an example). The key manager, though, was very friendly and helpful. It was challenging to get to the waterbus stop that we had to use when we left. However if you are not traveling on Sunday, or if you are willing to pay $120 to $150 euro for a water taxi, you will not have this problem. A water taxi from this room would be very convenient since it's right on the waterway. If we had to do it again we would not stay here, but if you need the larger space or intend to cook or plan to use a water taxi I think you will be satisfied.

Simply Amazing
We stayed at the palace for our honeymoon. The pictures are exactly what it is, beautiful. The checkin process was simple and the communication was superb every step of the way. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Two little things to be aware of…prepare for hiking up several levels of stairs as there is no elevator. The shower is very small with lots of elbow bumping. The hosts can do nothing about either and that’s why they are heads up versus complaints. Our stay was wonderful and this princess got to sleep in her Cinderella bed!

Bad experience, unfortunately
My wife and sister-in-law stayed here for 4 days/3 nights. When we arrived and checked in by Alissa (who was very sweet and helpful). We were told we had to pay a “guest tax” which was €12 per person, in cash, so that was unexpected, as we had already paid €36 in taxes when we booked the listing. It was warm out while we were there. The first night we couldn’t find the remotes for the air conditioning units, so we decided to sleep with the windows open hoping it would become more comfortable to sleep. It did not. I messaged the key keeper, Alissa, the next day about the remotes, and did not receive communication as to where they were until the NEXT day. Turns out, the cleaning ladies had them somewhere and had to deliver them to us, after spending most of our stay without air conditioning. It was frustrating because there was no direct communication with “the agency” who owned or managed the property, only 3 or 4 different people, two of which did not respond while we were having the issue with the AC. I even tried to contact the host directly through the VRBO app and still didn’t receive a response there either. Also, you can’t see the canal much and have a view like in the pictures unless you stick your phone out the window to take a picture. Although we are not, if you are disabled or elderly, you have to go up a few flights of stairs to access the apartment, so be prepared for that. Other than those things, the place was clean and nice and it is in a quiet area you don’t have to worry about big crowds by where you stay.
