best place to stay in Ireland
Thank you Kate and Carlos

I lectured in Computer Science for a number of years, and when my 4 daughters were reared I turned my attention to doing up this traditionaI little Barna Cottage, which holds so many lovely memories for me. I enjoy gardening and designing knitwear. I live very near the cottage so I am always at hand to offer advice, and help in any way I can with my guests.

Why they chose this property

I love this area of Galway & I do have special memories here. This is where I reared my girls, met life-long friends, and enjoyed the beauty of nature all around. As I write this I am listening to birdsong, and my water fountains in the garden. I have put a life-time of work into my gardens here - and it never ends! AND... it’s on the Wild Atlantic Way!

What makes this property unique

Actually, I built this property, having fallen in love with the location. It is right beside one of the few remaining boglands left in the world. This is a unique landscape with stunning wildlife and fauna. I am close to the sea, and I love swimming! And yet I can be in Galway city within minutes. And believe me, there is no city like Galway, anywhere in the world. I love it!
