The village famously boasts three Morris dancing teams which can be seen during the summer, their main event taking place on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend where you can also enjoy other traditional events including the great original annual shirt race, May garlands and the Flower Festival. From Bampton you can easily reach the River Thames just 2½ miles away and with footpath walks and cycling available, also the Cotswolds with Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Norton within half an hour’s drive.
