- Please remember to close all windows and doors when leaving the space
- Careful attention to the keys is extremely important. Guests are responsible for any additional costs resulting from misplaced keys or locksmith call-outs.
To ensure the safety of our current and future guests, we ask all guests to complete our online check-in form and to provide a valid form of identification.

The guest will have access to the whole apartment whilst they are in Edinburgh.

I can always be reached on Airbnb throughout your visit to help out if needed, otherwise I'll leave you to it to enjoy your stay!

The apartment is located in the 'Old Town' - right in the heart of Edinburgh.

Everywhere is walkable from this address. It is within 10 minutes walk to the Castle, Royal Mile, Grassmarket & Princes Street.

There are various supermarkets very nearby.

There are many amazing bars, restaurants and cafes all around the area. In fact, one of Tom Kitchen's (Michelin Starred) restaurants, 'Castle Terrace Restaurant', is just around the corner.

The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Usher Hall and Traverse Theatres are literally on your door step.
Three of Edinburgh's main Cinemas are within walking distance, one of which, the Filmhouse (host to the Edinburgh Film Festival) is less than a 5 minute walk away. The Filmhouse cafe also does very good lunches at a reasonable price.

Edinburgh's Old Town history dates back to the time when Malcolm III Canmore (died 1093) after building his castle, and a chapel for his wife, Queen Margaret within its walls - now the oldest building in the city.

The Abbey at Holyrood, built by her son David I, and the castle became focal points of Edinburgh and a thriving community grew along side the road between them, now known as The Royal Mile.

It was from the 1500s that the town became established as the capital of Scotland, as the inhabitants, choosing to stay in proximity to the protection of the castle, built tall narrow buildings along a stretch known as Castlehill.

The area is also a great base for exploring further afar, with easy west-of-city access to both the Forth Road Bridge/North and Glasgow/M8.

The property is located centrally therefore you can reach everything by walking!

Haymarket and Waverly station are each around 15 mins walk and the tram stop is on Princes Street (5 mins) with frequent services to & from Edinburgh Airport.

The city is also very well-served with a good taxi service - a rule of thumb being that £5-£10 will get you almost everywhere you want to get to from the flat.

Uber has just launched in Edinburgh as well.

Parking in Edinburgh is notoriously limited (anywhere). Therefore we would recommend pre-booking via Web Sites such as justpark. There are public 'short term' parking slots nearby on King's Stable Road, whilst the Castle Terrace NCP Car Park has ample spaces, though NCP can prove expensive. Alternatively, both the Airport trams and buses stop minutes away from the front door, so with most things also within walking distance from the flat, you may wish to consider if a car is necessary at all.

Please note - if the sofa bed is used there is an additional fee of £25 for linen. Sofa bed linen is not provided by default so please let us know if it is required.

A travel cot is available on request also - please just let us know.

My apartment is professionally cleaned with fresh linen/towels provided for each and every set of guests. You will be sent detailed instructions for check-in and I will always provide great communication throughout your stay!

The apartment is on the 3rd floor. As it is an original tenement building, there is no lift.

If traveling with a buggy or pushchair, guests are welcome to store it on the ground level if you do not wish to carry it up and down the stairs.

Great location
Our 3 day stay included watching fireworks out the windows of this VRBO. We were nice and close to Edinburgh Castle, great restaurants and other interesting sights. With the Tattoo in full swing it was nice to see all the activity going on close by. The main areas of the apartment were large enough for 4 adults, although one bedroom was quite small. The washer was a welcome sight as we had not seen our luggage for the 2 weeks we visited the UK. Collateral damage of the airline debacle! The apartment was clean and had all the necessities. The stairwell leading to our fourth floor unit left a lot to be desired. There was no light which made getting up four floors difficult. Also the stairwell itself from the ground floor on up were quite dirty . It would only take a few minutes once a week to sweep out the garbage and dust that had accumulated. Suffice to say once inside the unit we were pleased and had a comfortable stay.

Could have stayed somewhere better!!
Where to begin.. property description highly inaccurate.. 60 steps to reach this top floor flat and no elevator not mentioned.. common outdoor area was full of junk and overgrown.. used term "recently renovated" for a flat with a broken shower door, a problemattic water heater, many burnt out lights, mildewed countertops, and ceiling fixtures coming loose from the ceiling. The flat lacked cleanliness: the kitchen flr was stained, the wooden kitchen sink countertop was mildew stained, dust bunnies abounded on the woodwork and door tops (hung a clothes hanger on the central closet door top and got covered in dust). The laundry rack was in the back of the central closet and was a nightmare to get through all the maintenance junk stored there. During our 1st night, we reported to Altido Scotland (AS) the flat needed more lighting for our 3 reading adult family members. A one Edison bulb ceiling light and an upcast floor lamp was only provided for the living room. One of 2 lamps in the main bedroom was broken. Said light was not replaced by AS until the last night of our 5 night stay, despite my calling most days. On our 2nd afternoon, hot water cutoff. We called immediately, but were told no one would fix it until 10 am the next day (he came at 11 am). Why can a repairman not be on call at earlier hrs, especially since guests expect to start their day when Edinbugh opens at 11 am? For all the above, I was given a 20% discount. I'd have rather stayed elsewhere! Poor service AS!

Frustrating
This apartment was in an excellent location with a wonderful view. Unfortunately, the bathroom fan was as loud as a helicopter and would take about an hour to stop running after the switch was turned off. The chairs in the living room were dirty and covered with stains. The check-in process was unorganized and complicated - no one contacted us ahead of our check-in time. I appreciate that we could easily get a hold of the management, but the follow through was not sufficient.

Cute Place great location
Our stay started off poorly when we arrived to find the unit was not cleaned. Unfortunately, our luggage had been lost by the airline so we needed to clean up and wash our clothes. Problem is that the washer had broken and we were not notified. We were asked to wait a few hours for the unit to be cleaned. The management company was difficult to work with and did not do much to compensate us for the delay and broken washer. The unit itself was in a great part of town just a 5-minute walk to the center of old town.
