Paradise
My husband and I needed some getaway time from the city. This cabin was a jewel in beautiful farm and ranch lands. We enjoyed the walks, and the peace and quiet. We didn't wander far because we were here to relax. Thank you to the hosts for your quality care. If we needed anything Sheryl and her husband were there to help but always felt like we had our privacy.

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN CLOSE TO HOME
We had the best most relaxing time. The Cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. Definitely above our expectations. It was great to just enjoy the peacefulness and listen to the many variety of birds in the area. The owner went above and beyond. She is a very friendly and amazing host. I would certainly recommend this property if you are looking for peace and tranquility where you don't have to travel far.

In 2000 my husband and I purchased the 40 acre parcel of land in which Beaver Hills Retreat is located. Born in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Strathcona County we have always been attracted to the beautiful rolling hills and lush properties near Elk Island National Park. Countless afternoons were spent driving the area looking at real estate or just admiring acreages. When our 40 acre property 5 minutes from Elk Island hit the market it didn’t take us long to close the deal.

Inspired by our love for Purple Martins we spent 21+ years converting the property into a wildlife sanctuary. Helping nature while developing Beaver Hills has become our life journey and labor of love. Year after year we continue to add bird houses, trees, shrubs and water features. I don’t think we will ever be “officially finished” nor do we want to be.

People have often commented “Wow, that must be a lot of work”! I echo my husband’s response “It’s only work if you don’t love what you are doing”.

Beaver Hills Retreat opened to the public in 2019. It didn’t take long for the cabin and its abundance of wildlife to become a special meeting place for people and nature. Guests often report feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after a stay at Beaver Hills. There is no denying the healing powers of Mother Nature!

With over 20 years experience in hospitality we take pride in hosting great, memorable stays. Beaver Hills Retreat is truly blessed to have a large following of loyal repeat customers. We are doing what we love and connecting with wonderful people along the way.

Life is good!

We hope to see you soon!

~Sheryl
