Shunda Creek Place is a mountain home set into a forested area 5 minutes from Nordegg, Alberta. The amazing location is private, located at the base of Coliseum Mountain. This 5 star VBRO home is ideally suited to multi-generational families, or an excellent setting for friends or business people needing a retreat from busy lives.
The four bedroom home is well appointed with 2 luxurious bathrooms and a 2-piece off the kitchen. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a Bosch gas countertop, top of the line oven and refrigerator and dishwasher. Decks facing all directions let you take in the sun or shade - all with comfortable lawn furniture. After you've been hiking all day - you can relax around the fire pit. There is nothing this home lacks for you to wind down with family or friends.
Some of Alberta’s best hiking and sledding trails are found in Nordegg, from novice to experienced. The best trails in the area lead out of the property and go for miles (make sure to pack lunch!).
Is fishing your passion? Trout, bass, perch and pike are found in the surrounding rivers, ponds and lakes. Do you like mountain biking? There are great trails in and around the property.
Amateur and professional photographers list Nordegg as a top spot to capture wildlife. All of these opportunities are found a quick walk off the back deck!

Well Stocked Comfortable Home
We had a group of 7 stay for a long weekend at this property. Communication with our host was great prior to our stay & check-in was seamless. The property is comfy, spacious & a short walk away from Coliseum Mountain Trail. There is only one tv, which offers streaming services, in the main living space, so if you have a family or group who likes watching different shows/sports, you’ll want to make sure you bring an extra screen/device. Also, if you don’t regularly use streaming services, you’ll want to find out what you need (and possibly get accounts) so you’re ready! We used the TSN app for football and CBC Gem for hockey. Some of the ladies found the house a little bit cold. We were able to use the wood burning fireplace (so cozy with a great cash of wood), which warmed up the main space quickly, but you’ll want to pack a sweater and some slippers if you tend to run cold. There’s a hot tub on the back deck, but it wasn’t available at time of booking, so be sure to confirm whether it is available to guests or not if you’re looking for that. This is a beautiful, well maintained home with a well stocked kitchen and lots of little extras that came in super handy. We had a great stay and will definitely consider this home for the future!

Amazing location for adventures…
Beautiful property with privacy and loads of pathways and trails to explore. Nordegg and sounds lake just minutes away. Great place to stay with two families and bedrooms and bathrooms are laid out down and upstairs for everyone to have their own space. Property was immaculate with everything we needed.

First time staying at a Vrbo
I am very pleased with the location and house I chose to have our wedding ceremony with immediate family attending. It was exactly what I was looking for location wise to have the ceremony outside. Lots of parking for guests. All the large covered decks were great to have when we were concerned about having a place to take cover if it rained since we planned ceremony and lunch outside. The yard was beautiful for our ceremony set up with our added touches. Beautiful spot in the trees we took our family photos there. The house is beautiful, lots of room and bedrooms, a cold room to store the flowers and food platters was very handy. The house was very clean and a lovely place to relax. The one thing for other future renters to know to bring your own fire wood or chainsaw and axe. We thought we were coming to a place that had it all pre cut and ready to enjoy an outside fire but there were only huge, uncut tree logs and we were not prepared to have to chop firewood. All in all we all enjoyed our time and stay, owner was very accommodating.

The property is in a lovely setting, with everything provided for easy meal prep, BBQing, sitting by the fireside, taking in nature and getting away from the day to day race.

Shunda Creek Place is a family owned property. We live in Sherwood Park, Alberta and Shunda Creek Place is our home away from home, where we go to recover from our busy lives. Personally, I'm an avid horse person involved in the care and rehabilitation of horses from all over the world. Work travel can be exhausting and Shunda Creek is where we head after business travel. The peace and tranquility of this property is second to none.

Why they chose this property

Our family-focused property is ideally suited to families who need a break away from their busy lives. The home is especially suited to multi-generational getaways, or special interest groups (photography, bible studies, yoga, fishing). We do have a strict NO PARTY policy for the property. Shunda Creek is situated in an outstanding development of other mountain homes with permanent and vacation property owners. It is a close-knit community with bike and walking friendly roads and trails. It is a very safe place for families to explore nature with all generations.

Shunda Creek Place is a walk out three story home, custom designed to capture the sun as it travels from morning to night. The property has the most amazing decks for eating or relaxing, and the yard provides a wonderful place for games or sitting around the fire pit. The designer kitchen makes cooking an experience and large enough for family and friends to gather round the "chef for the meal". The large Great Room and dining room give families the space needed for all. Bedrooms are large and roomy and beautifully appointed. During good weather, enjoy sitting with family members on any one of the decks in comfortable lawn furniture. Shunda Creek Place is truly a home away from home.
