Kids Cottage Amazing views from all directions

Steps from the beach, we are on the beach side so no crossing busy roads necessary. Our 2 bedrooms house has Fabulous Ocean views from two covered decks, WiFi, Dish Network TV, Picnic Tables, Outdoor Shower, Chacoal Grill. House is within walking distance from gas station, grocery store, steak house, miniature golf course.

When you arrive you will find that house is fully stocked with clean linens on each bed, 7-8 bath towels, some toilet paper in each bathroom. Kitchen has pots/ pans, silverware, dinnerware, glassware, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker etc.

House is on a regular maintenance plan for AC units, cleaning, lawn service, & pest control. All bedrooms have brand new mattresses, living room has new sofa beds. all linens anhud pillows are purchased new quarterly and throughout the year as needed.

WiFi is provided by Xfinity, TV Service by Dish Network, and other amenities include; picnic table, park grill and outdoor showers on ground level of house.

Avoid keeping deck doors open while AC is running. Otherwise, AC might freeze and stop working for hours.

Classic Jamaica Beach Beachhouse
I grew up here, and came back for a visit. I appreciate that this house has stayed unique and colorful, just as I remember Jamaica Beach. Other rentals have been flipped into conglomerate-owned "grey-white" non-descript homes. Appreciate this little gem.

Galveston beach 2023
We enjoyed our stay. Very nice and close to the beach. House was good, clean. Nice deck. Good communications with owner, I had left some things and she was willing to send it to me. Also, she let us stay a few extra hours the day of departure. Which was awesome. My only downside was, it was very close to the road and the noise of the traffic bothered me, but then I’m quite sound sensitive. The rest of the family was not bothered by the traffic sounds. Overall a great stay.

Nice but tired
We travel for a living so I like to give straight up honest reviews. The parking was good. The outdoor shower is only cold water and is just a trickle. The chairs and toys, that were at a different rental were pretty gross. We bought ourselves two new chairs. The grill is open and rusted and dirty. I wouldn’t cook on it so we had to do all our steaks inside the oven. The house was clean. It is on the road so be prepared for lots of noise. The AC is also loud so you better bring ear plugs. There is a house in front of you so your view is obscured. The living room consisted of one tired old couch that seats 3 very closely and two old wicker chairs. There is a TV and there are lots of options. Table seats 4. Kitchen is tired. Dishwasher door slams down and don’t pull hard on the top shelf lest you pull it completely off. The beds are super hard. Fantastic stacked washer and dryer. Nice towels. Furniture on balcony consists of high wooden chairs and a table. The other table is to low to dine on with the high chairs. The stairs inside are super dangerous. The rail begins past the first step. Beware of that for sure. It was easy access to the beach. Honestly it would feel so crowded with more than 3 people. It was fine for us but I think overpriced for a comfortable house. The redeeming quality was walking to the beach.

Beach Getaway
Although we live about an hour away, our stay made us feel like we were on vacation. I wish I could give this listing over 5 stars. Miss Lisa was very attentive and was always a message away. It’s safe to say we’ve found our favorite beach house in Jamaica Beach.

Great view
Had a great weekend trip with family of 5 and 2 small dogs. Views were amazing steps from the beach and close to stores/restaurants. This house (in my opinion) is biggest bang for the buck in this area. My 15 year old daughter left her wallet in the kids room and the property manager (Lisa) found it and mailed it to us within a couple of days! I would highly recommend this house and would stay again!

Kevin and Elisa Smith, married for 34 years, have raised a family of three boys for whom they built and named houses back in 2004. The revenues generated from rentals were dedicated to funding their sons' college education. Now, with the joy of grandchildren in their lives, the couple has affectionately renamed the home "Kids Cottage." They hope that one day, the proceeds from rentals will also contribute to the education of their beloved grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

The 3 Beach houses were built by Kevin and are currently managed by Lisa. They are located in a very nice and safe part of Galveston. They are on the beach side and have grand views of the beach and the bay. All 3 properties are exactly alike except for color, they have the same floorplan, furniture and similar decor. Each has its own charcoal grill, picnic table, outdoor shower and are only about 300 feet from the beach.

What makes this property unique

Each house sleeps 7, they are right next to each other so its a perfect location for Family Reunions because it enables families to spend time together yet, still have their own private space.
