What you can expect
I'm trying to write an unbiased review based on how things are, not what I expected them to be, so here it goes:
The good:
- the house has parking for 2 vehicles, easily, with street parking that we had no issues with
- the house layout was able to accommodate our large family without feeling like we were crowded
- there's a queen bedroom on the main floor, which is great if anyone has mobility issues
- I personally didn't feel like we were far from attractions (although some family members felt it was a little long)
- the neighborhood is quiet and clean
- there are several bathrooms, which meant you were never having to wait for one to become available
- the master bedroom is quite large with a large ensuit, which I really liked
- the maintence people were very nice/friendly
The not so good:
- the carpet has stains on it (which I can get passed because it's a rental), but we also found garbage on the floor upon check in
- the outside garbage bins were full with no direction on if we needed to do anything with it despite inquiring, so we had no where to put our garbage
- the cupboards had a missing piece in the kitchen
-1 of the beds was broken upon arrival which we had to wait a few days to get fixed (although, I can understand the wait because we visited during christmas).
- there were not enough towels for the occupants (house has room for 12, we had 6 towels) and there were only 3 face cloths.
- there was only 3 pool towels
- there were no cloths to wash or dry dishes. The dishwasher worked fine but we don't use the dishwasher for things like pots and pans
- the spa was broken (occasionally emptying/spraying) and the pool wasn't heating properly for the majority of our trip. A pool maintenance person did come fix it 2 days before the end of our trip, so hopefully it's fine now.
- this is the first house rental I've had (and I've rented a lot) that didn't have a "welcome" book with house rules/information, info about the neighborhood and amenities, etc. Which isn't a big deal but that extra communication piece is helpfull because it helps answer questions without having to reach out to people (such as the garbage inquiry)
I share this so people know what they're renting and helps set a realistic expectation of what your experience might look like, so you can be an informed renter
